With conflict of mages and templars, I'm really interested what stand will take Tevinter. State ruled by mages would be definitely interested in mage rebellion, but I doubt they would directly interpose. But what of they chose same solution like Soviet Union in our history - advisors?

Soviet advisors were send to rebel armies in Africa, South America and Asia (where their numbers were quite reduced in Rambo II Image IPB ). They acted like military advisors, teaching rebel about russian weapons and strategy, but their main goal was spreading soviet ideals. Sometimes they even secretly eliminated not-so-devotted rebels leaders and replace them by more pro-soviet candidates.

Wouldn't be such advisors great inspiration for Tevinter?

Just imagine it - Tevinters advisors slowly pushing rebels mages to using forbidden magic and plotting against current leaders of rebellion. Quests seemingly good for everyone, but with unexpected political results. Group of powerfull mages in hearth of rebel camp which could turn hostile any time.

And having such advisor as companion, with all this hidden agenda, would be even better. Image IPB

RL politics aside, anything that brings more Tevinter into the game is a good thing. If, as the wild, crazy rumors suggest, we're really going travel around Thedas, this could be a very neat way to lurge mage supporters to Tevinter.

My mage looks forward to sacrificing dozens of innocents in the pursuit of more power.

Tevinter doubtless has an ambassador in Orlais, and vice versa. But the two Chantries are rather strongly opposed to each other. I wouldn't doubt that you'd run into Tevinter agents who support the mage side of the rebellion.
