I can agree with this. The fact that my smuggler in TOR tried to sleep with every woman he met, regardless of species, and the reactions, successful or not, were part of what made him fun to play.

Speaking of rejections, if casual romances were included in the game there should be rejections as well. Not every attempt should end in success. Seeing the PC get slapped after an attempt would also be hilarious. Posted Image

Yes, I approve of this, I require the option to be a complete and utter **** if I so desire! XD Honestly though, I like playing perverted characters, especially if they fail at it. It builds character and actually adds to the roleplaying value of the game itself. So this definetly has my support. X)

Its rated 18 anyhow so what does it matter whether theres nudity or not?

Because ****** and dicks are evil.

Fox news.

Insane US prudishness ;)

Biggest porn industry in the world...OMG BOOB KILL IT WITH FIRE.
No, the blood, intestines and beheadings are fine. OMG MORE BOOB.

Indeed. Sexuality is great. People need to embrace it.

Developers need to stop being such prudes or stop obeying the retarded prudes. Besides they get more publicity if fox news goes into ragemode and any intelligent person will know that boobs arent bad. Also if a media like fox news hates a game I will probably love it and buy it.

I'm ambivalent. I don't really care if sex is shown/implied in the game or not. I'm more interested in how the characters' personalities develop within the framework of that romance.

I don't care, for example, if Hawke and Anders are shown having sex or not. They're living together, so I'm going to assume intercourse occurs regularly, unless I receive information to the contrary. What matters is the progression of their characters as a result of this development.

When I want porn, I go and watch porn. I play Bioware games because I want a good story with interesting characters. If sex is a part of that story, good. If it isn't, that's good too.

The grat Fox news says that if a child sees boobs in a video games his parents heads will blow up and he'll become a pimp with no respect for woman. Honestly, when has the media ever lead us a astray before?

Seems to me that Bioware embraces sexuality plenty as it is. I know of no other game company that even allows players to express homosexual desires through their characters, let alone act out a homosexual relationship.

I'd rather they didn't show nudity, personally, but my concerns are practical, not moral.

Firstly, sex is difficult to animate. The developers struggle to create convincing kissing as it is.

Secondly, the country I live in doesn't provide an R-rating for videogames. Anything that doesn't qualify for MA is simply refused classification and not sold here. So if being "prudish" means I'll actually get to play Dragon Age III, then Bioware should be as prudish as necessary.

A lot of role playing games have allowed you to play as homosexual in recent years: Skyrim, Bully, Sims, Dragon's Dogma, Fables. They are mostly Western games. Dragon's Dogma is made by Capcom, so it's kind of an exception.

I do agree that nudity is not important, I would prefer sensual over sexual. With that being said, nudity without actual nudity would work, too. They don't need to show any boobs or private parts if they use their camera angle right.

I'm all for more stuff that gets to the heart of what roleplaying is all about: having sex with NPCs.

Casual romances and friends with benefits would be great. Sex doesnt need to be so serious. Give us some better animations while your at it. No underwear sex and no fade to black. Take notes from the witcher. Its rated 18 anyhow so what does it matter whether theres nudity or not?

I have no problem with this as long as it isn't one sided. If they are going to show female privates onscreen, they should do the same with male privates. I am so tired of still seeing the old double standard in this day and age. I'm not suggesting putting up a "Full Monty" onscreen, but there are at least some of us women out there that enjoy viewing the male physique. All too often, I get bombarded with views of women's boobs, (which I could care less about), when all I really want to see is a guys bare butt. Posted Image

LOL, my Warden in Origins was a manwh***!
He'd sleep with anything that moved without any restriction to gender, race, ...etc.
AND with mods his dirty acts went on the roof! he slept with (Cammen, seduced Cullen, Gheyna, alistair, morrigan, zevran, leliana, pearl *****s, darrian, gerimoire ,...etc) and at the end he married Alistair and ruled beside him! LOL!
It was so much fun, I miss it.

About the fact that only Western RPGs portray healthy homossexual relationships, one thing that caught my eye in the Witcher 2 (which is polish game and we all know Eastern Europe isn´t exactly liberal) is that the bi/lesbian women were all hot and the only male homossexual was the old sorcerer with bad teeth and a sex slave. Talk about stereotypes...

Through sex shouldn´t be thrown on the face of the player or be a necessary part of the game, it´s a nice feature - if done properly and without bias.

I almost wish Bioware would do one game completely devoid of romances, period (like KOTOR2). People get so caught up in them that it takes focus off of the main story.

Well, they are completely optional, so I don't see what your gripe with them is. Plus KOTOR 2 may have lacked omances simply because it was rushed out before it was ready. The Handmaiden, the Disciple, Visas Marr, and to a lesser degree Atton and Mira felt like they ought to be romanceable.

On the other hand, it might be interesting if BioWare did a game without any. It would probably lead to a lot of hurt butts though, many of them being quite vocal about it here on the BSN. :crying:

I'm not really against romance options.  I'm still dying to know how the Morrigan story will end all these years later...

But people on these forums act like these games are dating sims more so than action RPGs. :pinched:

How about no romance? It seems it's all 80% of the community can talk about, in various shapes, sizes and flavours.

Go play a dating sim or something.

I suppose this could work. I'd be worried it might end up feeling a bit... too much, though? Perhaps not, I've not really seen it. All I think of is the Romantic Encounters mod for BG2 and that's definitely overdoing it.

Lets take all the resources that were going to be used on romances and use them all to make high quality sex scenes. That's the real reason we put up with those stupid scenes, it's all for the 30 seconds of side boob.

The reason we're talking about it is because it's one of the few things we know about the game.

It wasn't an issue with DA2, but in Origins, I hated how harmless flirting usually initiated a romance (ex. Leliana).  I like being able to call someone attractive or giving them a compliment and not having them get jealous if my character romances someone else.

I liked how not brushing off Anders when flirting with Hawke in act 1 or helping Fenris read didn't automatically lead to sex or an upset companion.
