Isnt the Destroyer anti-everything?
Interestingly, we had a round of BatSol, 2 BatGuards & something else (don't remember) vs Collectors on Reactor Gold last night, and we pummeled the Collectors, quite literally.
SG Omniblade, Berserker Gear, & Strength Enhancer III will take down a Possessed Collector Captain with a Charge & Heavy Melee.
You can Heavy Melee your way through Scion cluster grenades laughably.
I was just sad I never got to finish a Praetorian off with a Heavy Melee. I have never seen its head ripped off. I did, however, get a blade armor kill on a Praetorian bhahha.
Anyway, this goes to show a lot of classes can actually do well vs Collectors. I never thought to bring a melee class to a Collector game (it was UUG though), and it was more effective than I had imagined.
By far, my most favorite class to play vs Collectors would have to be the Valkyrie though. Agressive & semi-tanky. My kinda gal.

An Incinerate-less KSent does that, with better nades, that also have a bonus vs Barriers.
And even WITH incinerate, you won't need it until you find a Scion or Praetoran, to cause more stagger and Fire Explosions.
Not taking Incinerate on the Krogan Sentinel.....
Yep - put on typhoon + any heavy shotgun you care to use:wizard:

Hey now...before the buff to Explosions and the like I never even bothered, just carried my Claymore and B. Widow and nuked every spawn, then annihilated the bosses.
BUT yes, now with the changes, a KSent can wreck house with Incinerate + Biotic Nuke ("Lift" Grenade)
Although...I still don't have Incinerate Spec'd on him...

Psh. The Destroyer has NOTHING on the Drell Vanguard against Collectors.
This. Harrier Drellguard is the true anti-everything.
And if, by chance, a seeker swarm or a seeker plague catches you? What then?
Use survival pack? Wait 'till you're dead and then gel? Or just bleed out? What a dilemma...
I dunno, they're too busy trying to be where I was 5 seconds ago.

Negate Seeker Swarms, Weapon buffs via Devastator Mode, and shields & health bonuses.
Right, Demolisher also negates the threat of Seeker swarms unless you're replanting your pylon on cooldown constantly. Weapon buffs the Destroyer has the edge there sure but extra shields and health aren't really worth much vs collectors thanks to Scions being able to 2-3 shot any character kit on any difficulty above Bronze. The lower mobility ends up being a pretty noticable flaw vs Scions and Praetorians as well due to the former's possessed grenade spam and aforementioned doom cannon and the later's impressive speed.
Correct. Never said that the N7 Destroyer was the only one that negates Seeker Swarms' abilities. However, in this scenario, the advantage of the N7 Destroyer over the N7 Demolisher is that the buffs are inate to the Devastator Mode. Sure he's slow but his buffs are with him regardless of his location around the map, and it doesn't hamper his effectiveness of mobility.
The N7 Demolisher's buffs are subject to deploying the Supply Pylon. Sure you can keep redeploying the Supply Pylon, but that is her disadvantage against the N7 Destroyer in this scenario.
On another note, I don't recall having any real issue(s) with the Scions. It's not like I Rambo out in the open the whole time anyway. Hard cover, soft cover, smartplay, team coordination, etc.. Sure, their grenades are kind'a cheap, but it wasn't an issue.

The trick is to not let that happen. The seeker swarms and plagues have a tell; they stop moving before they're planning to explode. With the Drell's speed, it's easy to get away when you know it's coming. I've actually intentionally gotten them to suicide this way.HunterInside wrote...

I was half-joking, but only half. I use the Wraith with Incendiary IV and a Shock Trooper V gear, as well as a power amplifier IV in the armor slot (never end up using them off of grenade classes). Since he's so speedy, you can get out of a lot of dicey situations quickly. Scion shots are so powerful that they're going to shieldgate/healthgate most classes, so the fragility mostly matters against praetorians. Because I'm an idiot, I use 'Pull' as an offensive power, so the low-level troops that are probably the biggest threat next to Praetorians can basically be shot once to take out their barriers and most of their health, and then pulled into the air to die to the rank 5 damage-over-time effect that no one but me takes. If you set a Scion on fire, this may be bull****, but it FEELS like it takes longer to start firing, so with the incendiary ammo and cluster grenades, you can trigger good FEs. Cluster grenades are also good when you stumble upon large groups (I usually pull once first in case there's anything to be pulled, hoping for a detonation).
I mean, I WAS kidding, but I've used the Drell pretty well against them. My favorite for Collectors is still the Krogan Sentinel, but I like the Drellguard. It's always been the funnest class to me. Nice to be semi-competent on gold with him (killed a Gold brute with 'Pull' last night, true story).

So, by this definition, any weapon-based class is anti-collector.
And here I was hoping for some deeper reasoning.
Don't be stupid.
What Infiltrator is awesome without Tac Cloak? Is the Human Soldier awesome when he can't use Adrenaline Rush? Batarian Soldier awesome without Ballistic Blades? Krogan Soldier w/o Carnage... OK I'll give you that one.
Seriously... weapon classes have powers too.

I haven't found any satisfying success with vanguards vs. collectors. To me you want to engage them from distance, more so than other factions.
Destroyer, Demolisher, Salarian Infil.
Pretty much any non-melee, non-vanguard. Medium-Long range I think is the way to go.
The main thing is to keep moving around when Praetorians show up. They're basically like Banshees that hover instead of teleport around.
