Well, I have finally killed the Archdemon in DA and have now moved onto Awakenings and thinking of playing through the other DLC packs of Witch Hunt and Leilana Song, but I'm wondering if I should start another playthrough with my savefile now or wait until I complete everything with my mage first in Origins before I import it over. 

Another Question is what background is imported into DA2 like I killed Flemeth in Origins will she appear in DA2?

the save file u can import is DA-->Awakening-->Golem--->Witch hunt in that direction.
It's the default timeline for warden's story, so you can import from either one of them.
witch hunt will be the one with completed import.
leilana song DLC doesn't have anything to do with the import..

as for Flemeth, she will be in the game anyway. the warden didn't "kill" her completely
I just completed the whole DA, and going to play DA2 soon.
and have to tell you that the import save has problems with awakening's ending..

Whatever you do make sure you don't play MOTA before beating DA2 otherwise you'll ruin your save files and won't be able to beat the game. Known issue for EA/Bioware they just haven't fixed it in the year and a half that the game has been out.
