And Naveen Andrews would be Duncan!

I would agree with you on Sam Worthington. I just don't think he has the naive personality that Alister does. I'll agree with you on Troyer. As far as Naveen, I don't think he would fit the part. Whether they do the movie or not doesn't much matter to me because I think the game stands on it's own as a masterpiece. I have just seen how games have been mangled by being made a movie ( need i bring up Mario Bros. O.o ) If they did do this one, it would have to be a biiig mofo movie, the way Avatar is big.

Ok, just need to say this...Check out Liam Neeson in the "Clash of the Titans" trailer. He's sporting a wicked beard, and I'm getting all sorts of Eamon vibes.

I'd be all for Naveen Andrews as Duncan, but he just isn't old enough to play a mentor-ish character. I mean, he's a thirty-something leading other thirty-somethings? Jawhozawizzawhat? Seriously, Kingsley even has the right tone of voice to play Duncan. A match made in heaven.

Ryan Reynolds as Alistair could work. He certainly has the sarcastic disposition. My only question: can he be British?

It seems others also think that Sam Worthington would make a good Warden. I just watched the Sacred Ashes trailer, and he even looks a tad bit like the leading Warden guy/dude/man.

Now, my whole Jeremy Irons = Loghain bit came from watching Lion King. Scar is sort of similar to Loghain. Of course, Scar is Disney-ed up...he has no redeeming qualities, at, like, all.

Now, I'm not a huge fan of live-action Claudia Black, but I think she has a lovely voice. So, I'm really at a loss for who should be Morrigan...

I stand by Marion Cotillard = Lelianna. They're both so...French! I mean, they're Frenchier than surrender! Also, I can't imagine them eating anything but brie and bread.

The problem with casting dwarves as dwarves is mostly physical. Their shorter stature and smaller internal (and external, but that kind of goes without saying...) body parts leave them with high-pitched voices. I don't think I could do that to Oghren.

Also, Cate Blanchett would be an amazing Wynne. Wynne never struck me as "old", only wise. Right up Cate's alley.

Alan Rickman would be the perfect Arl Howe.
1. Go watch Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
2. Ignore Kevin Costner.
3. ???
4. Profit.

Sten. Must. Be. Michael. Dorn.
MICHAEL. DORN. MUST. BE. STEN.
I rest my case.

Anora should be played by Diane Kruger. Why? They're both hot. Also, there are some physical resemblances. Like how they're both haaaawt.

Cailan, Cailan, Cailan...Eh, we don't care. You die in the first twenty minutes, and you aren't the narrator.

hmmm, michael dorn...never thought of him but he would be a good pick. I do think that Alan Rickman would make a good Arl Howe, it is just difficult to set aside such a good actor as Tim Curry when he did such a great job with the voice. As for Alister...I just don't like Ryan Reynolds as the hero type. Maybe because his acting is a little less then...good...shall one say lol.

I think people here are coming up with some good actors.

I'm with Godak for having Michael Dorn as Sten. Its just right.

I like Helen Mirren for Wynne.

Gerard Butler? How about casting him as Bann Teagan? He could do it.

Liam Neelson would be a good Arl Eamon.

Leliana could be Marion Cotillard. She is cute. Hair cut and some red dye and she could pull off the bard. Apparently she sings too, so... that's done then.

Juliette Binoche for Isolde? Perhaps she could pull it off with out an annoying voice.

I want Tim Curry for Arl Howe, but Alan Rickman could play the bastard easy.

I quite like Jeremy Irons as Loghain. Which might have something to do with me quite liking Jeremy Irons.

I still say Philip Seymour Hoffman could do Oghren. With modern special effects you don't need the actor to be an actual dwarf.

If Ryan Reynolds can do British, I think he would have the goofy charm and looks to pull off Alistar.

I think Ryan Reynolds is just perfect, not to heroic, and not to goofy either.

And Still Cloudia Black as Morrigan, she has the sexy moves for it, not to mention the sarcasm ;)

I leave the rest open, so many actors... so much time.

I would like it if someone of Bioware would respond to this tread, want to hear their thoughts :)

or better even, some of the actors!

(hey, one can dream ;)

Truth be told I absolutely disagree with Ryan Reynolds as Alistair. To me, Reynolds just doesn't fit the naivety and awkwardness of Alistair that goes along with his jokey, smarmy attitude.

Finally someone agrees! :D

Oke I said the Sam Worthington man dude purely based on looks, I haven't seen or heard him in action yet so I don't know what he sounds like or looks like...moving :)

But I've been thinking (yes, I know, I have an exam tomorrow and I kind of took any excuse to let my mind wander oke...)

What about Nathan Fillion? (Firefly (Serenity), Buffy, etc etc)

Hunky, can pull off the comedy, and most of the time even has the Alistair haircut going on! Plus, he did a voice over in a video game, AND Dragon Age is full of Joss Whedon easter eggs, so, purrfect fit I'd say :P. Did I mention he's hunky?

Should I be appalled that Daniel Day Lewis hasn't been suggested yet in this thread?

Yes, Daniel Day-Lewis can Loghain the hell out of the movie.

Or something.

And I'd agree, Apocalizz, if he were younger. From what I know Alistair is early/mid-twenties, but I suppose his age in the film would be malleable to match the Warden.

The sad thing is (although there never will be a movie) that if there was a movie, hardly any of the characters would be in it.

SPOLERS BELOW>

The story would pretty much just be the warden and companions going to Redcliffe, defending the village, then going to Haven, then back to Redcliffe to heal Eamon, who would then send representatives out to the Elves and Dwarves to get allies against the blight while the rest of the group goes to Denerim to confront Loghain.

Characters would be:

Generic Warden character

Alistair, Morrigan, Sten, Leliana.

While others might make an appearance, such as Oghren marching with the dwarves, and mentioning a failed assassination attempt on the Warden (implying Zevran). Wynne would march with the Mages, etc.

I guess that is partially true. A movie would only last one to two hours long, so only the core plot and characters would make it to the condensed movie version. But, I still think you would have all compansions, just some would play more major roles while others would simply tag along for the ride.

"Actornap" sounds like something actors do when they're tired, and they need to rest.

Also, aren't there laws against that kind of thing? Wouldn't we, I don't know, go to jail?!

Why would it only be 1 or 2 hours long.   It could be a 3 hour 3 parter, like say LoTR.  :wizard:
