Here are some of my suggestions:
Morrigan - Andrea Parker (she's soo good at being a bi@#ch)
Human Warden - to pair up with the above - Michael T. Weiss
First Enchanter Irving - Leonard Nimoy (hard to picture him with a beard though)
Arl Howe - Tim Roth
Sten - Michael Clarke Duncan
Loghain - Alan Rickman
Arl Eamon - Sean Connery would do, though if he was a bit younger he would make a good Duncan
Zevran - Johnny Depp maybe
King Cailan - Bruce Willis (just for laughs :D)

Ok..so I think Leilana would be the perfect role for the redhead in "Quantum of Solac"e the character "Strawberry Fields" played by Gemma Arterton.

You know what? I can totally see that. I'm behind this choice.

Right, here we go:

It would be spread out into 3 movies, with some parts of the story significantly modified, such as certain origins, motives and organization etc.
I'm basing this significantly on my own experiences with the game, even though I haven't fully finished the game yet. So, the main character resembles my own, but hey this is just an idea.

So, first film.
Dragon Age: Origins. 130 or so minutes long.
It covers the Origin, Ostagar, Lothering and Redcliffe. Focuses a lot on The Warden, Alistair and Morrigan.
The Warden starts off with the Dalish Elf Origin, taking the role of a somewhat antagonistic and xenophobic elf. Best friends with Tamlen, he very reluctantly and bitterly follows Duncan out of his clan, upset at leaving his friend behind (which will return to haunt him). The origin would take up about half an hour to tell, including the trip to Ostagar. Then we're introduced to Alistair and whatnot, who is initially at odds with the xenophobic elf until he begins to gradually warm to him and Duncan before, during and after The Joining. The treaties are not revealed to be so yet, to give a reason to visit Redcliffe first at Alistair's suggestion.

Then, the battle of Ostagar at about halfway through the film, with The Warden and Alistair bro-ing it up until the climax at the top of the tower. Saved by Flemeth (whom they met earlier, along with Morrigan.) The reality of the situation sets in for Alistair and his depression leaves The Warden fairly lost as to how to feel and how to help him. He takes lead and heads to Lothering, clumsily expressing concern over Al and relating to Morrigan quite some, finding her connection with nature (shape-changing etc.) fascinating (he's Dalish after all). Things lighten up a bit as they visit Lothering and encounter some future companions:
Shale - Setting of her origin is swapped to Lothering and shortened, Shale is changed to be a little more lost as to her original life and it's revealed through snippets of conversation.
Sten - The Warden converses with him in his cage, before Lothering is attacked while the party is there, and Sten is freed during the conflict. Taking in The Warden's words (including a bitter conversation about Ferelden and humans (mostly one-sided)) about the darkspawn and such (mostly the same as the game, the chat) he follows him out of the town, tagging along.
Dog - Same as in the game.
Leliana - Leliana insists on following after saving the party during an encounter in the chantry whilst escaping Lothering.

Then Redcliffe comes along, going along mostly as in the game, with Morrigan being the one to enter the Fade and Isolde's life being taken to save Connor. But the town is left without Arl Eamon and a mere lead on The Urn of Sacred Ashes. At the end, Alistair is revealed as King Maric's son and they set off to pursue said lead in The Circle (Yes, in the circle, it makes sense if I do a second one)

Rough time estimates.
Origin - 20 minutes
Ostagar - 30 minutes
Recovery and Lothering - 15 minutes
Redcliffe Battle - 20 minutes
Saving Connor and conclusion - 40 minutes

May work on a second post >_>

I think we found our scenario ! and yes why it has to be only 1 film ? it could be part to part like LOTR.

Treaties could be 2nd movie's consept and Landsmeet and final battle could be the last film.

Then we should think someone for Riordan too :)

Twas merely one part of three bits, though thinking about it I have a better idea for the first one, instead of Redcliffe.

Alistair - Chris Odnell

Leliana - Jillian Anderson

Sten - John Ciena ( the wrestler)

Wynne -  Jane Seymour ( with a dye job)

Zevran -  Johnny Depp (he just does weird good)

Loghain -  Alan Rickman

Duncan -  Nick Cage ( but with better acting on his part)

Flemeth -  Tilda Swenton (The lady from Narnia who played the Ice Queen)

Arl Howe -  Not really sure on this one.

Morgain-  Cathrine Zeta

Claudia Black would be a nice choice for Morrigan but she is far to old. Morrigan isnt Flemmeth. ;-)

It should be a young but still bit mean, sexy, looking woman like:

The Warden - Jason Statham

Image IPB

This is if you go by the PC Warden shown in some trailers like Sacred Ashes. Not only does the Warden suprisingly look like Jason Statham, but his voice is even more matching. Wouldn't suprise me if Jason voiced for the Warden in Sacred Ashes.

I think Shannon Doherty would make a good Morgain

As for Alistair I would say Eric Bana or Hugh Jackman

It has been bugging me for some time as to whow voiced the Warden on that trailer. Now that you mentioned it, it does seem highly likely that it is Jason. Would love to see him as the Warden if there is ever a movie going to be released =]

Monica Belucci / Kate Beckinsale / Nathalie Portman - Morrigan...Claudia has the voice but not the looks
Sophie Marceau / Milla Yovovic - Leliana
Glen Close / Helen Mirren - Wynn
I fully support Johnny Depp as Zevran
Kate Mulgrew / Cate Blanchett - Wynn
Urgh...I hate to say it but we really need Arnie ´the Governator' for Sten
There is no way we will get John Rhys Davies for Oghren but I will keep my fingers crossed
Gerard Butler / Christian Bale - Loghain
Alistaire - Chris Pine
Yes, John Malkovic makes a perfect Uldred
And yes, any Dalish needs to be Orlando Bloom

Mmh I'll think other option, for now:

- Ryan Reynolds as Alistair*-*

- Keira Knightley as Leliana

- Cate Blanchett as Wynne

- Angelina Jolie as Morrigan. Most sweet then Morri, but I like this pair =)

Also Claudia Black is good.

- I want Orlando Bloom ambiguous elf again! XD ...so Zevran!!

Johnny Depp is an amazing actor, but I think that Dragon Age's character aren't particular like him (just Loghain... but I'm not really sure : / )
