I don't know if anyone has suggested him yet. He's about 27 years old, and while American could probably manage a British accent, but the guys like a dead ringer for Alistair. While not a heavily combat focused movie, he also played the young unruly rogue warrior, Murtagh, (though brunette in that) in the fantasy adventure movie, Eragon. He's been a few movies that are making him more famous, but he's still unknown enough to be able to be able to really BE that character. I don't normally post on the boards, but I saw this guy in Tron, and thought 'Holy Crap! It's like Alistair' and went looking for a casting thread here, and voila. That'd be my pick anyway.

John Rhys-Davies as Oghren or a dwarf origin. He played Gimli and so I realize he probably never wants to touch a dwarf again in his life but he would be perfect. AND YES, above poster. He looks positively Alistairish.

How did no one think Jensen Ackles for Alistair? I know he's no Brit, but he's got the looks and the skills. Or maybe I just see Dean Winchester in Alistair. They're both attractive, witty, and so very slow on the uptake at times.
Really? I still can't see much of a comparison between the two characters, apart from the sarcasm and the demon slaying.

Yeah, he said in one of the special features for LOTR that he wouldn't want to be a dwarf again and have to wear any kind of prosthetic nose. It gave him some kind of horrible allergic reaction. I think he could be a dwarf without a huge whallop of a nose, but still it's a pity he was great at it.
Mark Addy who plays Robert Baratheon on Game of Thrones might be a good choice for Oghren too though.
His character shares some similarities in that his favorite hobbies are drinking and wenching, and being generally fat and content with it until he wants to bust some heads, which he also enjoys . . . a lot. Not that those qualities alone make a character, but I think he might be good at it, and could certainly look the part if made to look shorter.
Thanks on the second opinion about Garrett Hedlund as well. I'm glad I'm not the only one that saw a striking resemblance. He's not too shabby an actor either.

I don't agree with all the choices, but I do with a lot of them. And it's soooo pretty! I sometimes just stare at it for my eye-candy fix.

YES! I can see that, totally.
LOL! That list he/she had Anders cast by the same choice I made for Alistair. I guess that's where Alistair and Anders (at least his Awakenings version, DA2 not so much) facial symmetry comes into play. I think that's a really good list, I never would've thought of Diane Kruger (Helen of Troy) as Leliana, but yeah, I can see that working.
I thought I'd think outside the JRD box, and I'd just been watching Game of Thrones with a scene where Addy's character couldn't remember which wenches he'd slept with, mostly because he'd been too drunk to remember, but remembered this one only because of her ample bosom . . . though those were much more polite words than HE used, lol! His crassness reminded me of Oghren, a lot.
Possible Morrigan = Serinda Swan
She's about 27 years old, Canadian (Vancouver), but I think she could pull off a reasonable Claudia Black-esque accent though her voice is softer so she wouldn't have that same sultry raspy quality, but her voice is alluring. I first saw her playing Zatanna (Mistress of Magic) a DC comics magical superheroine on an episode of 'Smallville' Which the bottom image is from.
She's certainly got the right look, and she's also fairly leggy and doesn't look ridiculous slinging spells on screen. Her sultry good looks suit the character of Morrigan well I think. She's been in some smaller roles in movies and recently got one of the lead roles on a new series "Breakout Kings" So not so well known that it'd eclipse the character.

I agree with Claudia Black as Morrigan (she was awesome in Stargate SG1 and being Morrigan's Voice in the game) and definatly agree with Jensen Ackles as Alistair (he's got the look and can pull of the personatlity. Check out the movie 10 inch hero)
most definatly have to be a bull mastiff for dog to work lol key charcter that has been overlooked. anyway as far as iam aware Dragon age will be an anime not film, could be a mistake if not done right CGI would have been my choice as you could stick with the looks from the game and stick with the voice overs from the gam, still think warden should be female this is perfect opprotunity for an epic lead female.
Arl Howe. www.imdb.com/name/nm0256237/ Not by apperance, but after watching him on LOST for so long, I just think he plays the "not really on your side" role all too well.
I know we'd have to be trusting that they could act, but wouldn't it make sense to get the character's base models to play them? This would only apply to Morrigan and Leliana, but that'd mean they'd be played by Victorria Johnson and Alexandra (Alley Katze) Stein.
Oh I would so love to cast a Dragon Age movie! Here are some of my choices.
The Warden - Emily Browning (My warden was a City Elf and she looked the most like her out of any actress I could find).
Wynne - Dianne Wiest (I think its kind of spooky how much she looks like her)
Soris - Zach Gilford
Shianni - Carey Mulligan
Leliana - Laetitia Casta
I agree with Jensen Ackles for Alistair as well. He seems like he might be able to work, although he might be too old but who cares really.
Oh and Mark Addy would be a great Oghren. He's a really good actor. Although his voice might not be deep or gravely enough.
I filled out a Dragon Age Movie Casting Meme on Deviantart Here and there is a blank one for anyone interested Here . Don't want to look like I'm spamming so don't click on the links if you don't want to fill them out.

I'd want my Warden to be played by a young Olivia Hussey. She was based off of Olivia, so... yeah. Unfortunately, that's not possible at all, sooo... I have no clue. ;D
