1. Purchased Dragon Age Origins: Digital Deluxe Pack from Steam
2. They sent me my GAME Registration CD KEY (the one with NO dashes) and the Deluxe content CD KEY (the one WITH dashes)
3. Gave up trying to use my gmail, yahoo, and hotmail accounts. Once you make a mistake, it's over for that account. EA/BioWare REALLY needs to fix this (I know its still beta) and streamline the syncing of account information. Hell, if Microsoft can do it, I'm sure you can figure it out.
4. Went to www.inbox.com/ and created a fast, free email account. Downside to inbox is that they require you to install an IE add-on toolbar where you check your mail from. For me it wasn't such a big deal since I don't use IE anyway, and will likely never use the account for anything else, ever, other than EA/Bioware SocialNetwork shenanigan.
I'm sure you can use any other service, AOL "supposedly" has a good one, but my experience with AOL has never been a forgiving one. Whatever you use, just make sure it's not related to your original email accounts in any way.
5. Anyway, after you create your new email account, make sure you totally wipe all traces of internet history, cookies, temp files, everything from your computer. I used CCleaner and it worked fine followed by a manual "spot" check from within the browser. I use Google Chrome.
6. I then proceeded to social.bioware.com/ and create a freshly minted account. Worked the first time for me.
For Steam users:
7. Since I used Steam to buy my digital download, they sent me 2 seperate CD keys.
-key 1 has the following format "xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx" this is the key you use to get your bonus content AFTER you register your main CD Key
-key 2 has the following format "X2LLC6LX26TNULXP7RNX" this is the MAIN Registration key for your copy of Dragon Age. You register it FIRST to unlock the game.
-follow up with key 1 to access your Digital Deluxe content "provided you purchased it"
8. Log into the game and you should, in theory, be able to start accessing your online account within the game for the goodies.
This was a painful experience for me, and from what I read many others have issues also. I sorely hope that I am able to help at least 1 person with this information.
