which is no shock, it's in large a political marriage, and having a mistress or two is not only common, but largely expected....just as it was here in our own world through a large chunk of history.

She then wonders if there will be anyone else, cause she would like to know right away, and tells you that Cailan had other women but was discreet about it.
Have not gotten it myself though.
And he is Marics son, that is evidence enough.

History has proven that kings were not always right though.

I don't blame Loghain for letting Cailan die anymore lol. If my son in law was cheating on my daughter, yeaaaah i'd just be waiting for the right opportunity to off him.

Why not both?
He had his women, not woman.

So...Maric wasn't the scoundrel that the game has painted him out to be, I think.

I have to defend Maric here...he never cheated on Rowan.
lolwhut? Maric cheated on Rowan to have Alistair. He must have, since Loghain says that Maric intended to make it public but Loghain had to talk him out of it because of the affect it would have on Queen Rowan, reducing her to basically a concubine in the eyes of the Ferelden Nobility.
It's no wonder Cailan/Anora had no heirs. After she found out about the first affair she probably cut him off, and he figured she was being an ice queen and so just went out... more.

Thats exactly it: If you are a female romancing alistair and attempt to marry him with Anora, she will bring up that Cailan was pretty unfaithful.

What if your Girl was a total bi-erm, WITCH. Yea. What if your Girl was a total witch?

... You know, that actually sounds plausable. I like this version of events. I think I'll keep it.

Based on The Calling...no. Check out the epilogue. I believe David Gaider has stated that what's in the Codex isn't always correct. Also, based on that book, Loghain and Maric were not the best of buds by the end of Maric's reign, so I doubt Loghain knows all there is to know about Alistair. Suffice it to say that there are a lot of assumptions made about Alistair by Loghain and Alistair himself that aren't necessarily true...though nothing has been explained in full as of yet.

Then again it's pretty difficult to link up the books and the game. For instance Loghain doesn't act like his book version until you recruit him into your party.

No disrespect to your daughter intended, but isn't leaving hundreds of men to die as a result, a little extreme?

Loghain really doesn't have much to stand on either as he jumped Rowan's bones in Stolen Throne even though he knew she was Maric's betrothed. Apparently in the DOA universe everyone is just jumping from bed to bed, lol.
Very much so. Remember, if you play Human noble and bring up having an "encounter" setup with your Brother & his family, they mention to keep it "discreet" or it will cause trouble.
So really, seems infidelity isn't directly frowned upon - only if you get "caught" doing it will the trouble happen. Of course that only refer's to "public" trouble / opinion. What happens between man and wife if either are caught out having an affair... is between them (ie such as Callian not getting any from Anora because of it.. why else was he so eager to go out in a blaze of glory.. lolz).
