Halo 4 was the most satisfying game that I've played for quite some time, I absolutely LOVED the story. It was so much more personal and I really felt like this was what the Halo franchise needed, a story between Cortana and John. They did a fantastic job imo and I was very satisfied.
I dunno why you compare Halo 4 with ME3 though, they are completely different games from completely different genres.
And just to add a little bit. I can't wait to see what 343 industries will do in the future! I had doubts at first, but they turned out to be amazing.
From a gameplay perspective, they indeed are very different and not comparable at all. But when it comes to immersion, story telling, and emotional connection, you can pretty much compare any game. In this case, I think Halo 4 and ME3 are indeed comparable.
However, ME3 is a RPG. At least.... that's what it was supposed to be... Instead it felt as an action game with lots of stereotypes.. But it has to take into account all of the choices and so on whilst the halo franchise has a set story / choices. I just don't think it's that fair to compare them both. The ending of Halo 4 gave me the feels, we lost some but we still '' won '' and especially John. I loved the '' conversation '' ( well... Lasky talking ^^ ) to the chief. He said EXACTLY what I have been thinking about for so long. That John is not a machine, his person. Lasky didn't say all that much. He didn't have to, it was perfect.

I agree completely with the ending comversation, and then when John finally replies... (oh the feels, can we all get group hug going?).
As for ME3 being an RPG, I totally agree, and I take that into consideration. its not totally comparable, but in the general sense its still worth comparing.

That too :´(... '' It wont be me. You know that don't you? ''
343 just blew my mind in so many ways, halo is in such good hands.

Man, lots of great moments.
As for the bolded, I think this is the key. I have confidence in the future of Halo. ME has me in limbo, and worried.

Halo 4 was just one of those games that reminded me how lucky I am for being someone whom over analyze stuff and gets so invested in stories. In a way, I kind of feel sad for people whom just is unable to comprehend stories and feel any kind of emotional connection from them at all, perhaps they are scared of what other people will think ( pretty pathetic to be scared tbh ) or perhaps... They're just cold! Lol

There is also the mystery of The Great Journey to be solved, something that is alluded to that actually exists, just not in the way the Prophets thought it was.
edit: I liked how they changed Chiefs body language during those last few scenes, hard to see in someone who has been characterised as being emotionally unmoveable in the previous games. But then you read the books and you have the Interrogators spiel at the beginning....and things start to fall into place.
Its also great looking at Halo 4 knowing exactly what the Librarians plan is. Why the SPARTAN II's are who they are, what Halsey meant with her comment in the prologue.....sigh, its so awesome.

Really you basically have to switch your brain off when playing Halo.
And Mass Effect 3 is somehow different?
You turn off/control/become BFFs with the Reapers, and save Earth.
At least there's choice. Halo isn't the RPG that ME is, but trying to pretend it put "the smackdown" on ME's ending is just nonsense.
The only way the end of Halo happened was because the bad guy forgot he could just plain kill Master Chief twice, instead he decided to throw him away.
Yeah, a choice between a red, blue or green coloured off switch.
You represent everything that is wrong with BioWares new fanbase and target market. You're a bunch of morons.

also 343 pretty much spells out to us that cortana might still be aliveEnvyTB075 wrote...
If you consider the Didact v Humanity plot as the main point of the game, you missed the actual plot, the Chief/Cortana plot, the one that 343i specifically stated they were working hard on. The Didact plot merely creates the set up for Halo's 5 and 6. That being humanity finally taking the steps to take the Mantle over from the Forerunners.
There is also the mystery of The Great Journey to be solved, something that is alluded to that actually exists, just not in the way the Prophets thought it was.

Yup, this is why I play games. The story, the emotial investment. Sure their fun, but its the story that matter.

Theres having an opinion, and then theres just flat out dumb. The new fanbase belongs to the latter.
There have been so many well thought out analyses and constructive criticisms that cover pretty much every aspect of Mass Effect, yet this "new" fanbase puts down a story of greater depth just because its Halo and i'm expected to be ok with this?
Jog on.

Story was better but felt short IMO, hopefully the next ones are longer.

Really you basically have to switch your brain off when playing Halo.
So instead of reading up on the lore, you jump into a game named halo '' 4 '' and then because you are unable to comprehend what is going on you assume that it's not because you may have a lack of knowledge in the universe. But it's the games fault....

I wish MS had BioWare.
ME3 could have been so much better, I mean I like ME 3 but MS would've have given them more resources and time.

It's not really an ending tho. It's a set up for Halo 5 and 6. So I kind of hesitate to call it an '' ending ''.
But it was a fantastic way to start a new trilogy.
