I Hate to say it but the new DLC's for skyrim look good and the thier new online world they are setting up. I would love to see Drangon Age do this. Play the world and choose race and what you are in it.

I don't know, but I do know that I'm not going to be playing any MMO any time soon.

Bioware already has an MMO. So I doubt they'd build another.

To be honest I can't even see the Elder Scrolls MMO doing well. One of the things Skyrim fans loved about the game was it was a reminder of the strengths of single player games. And considering MMO's seem to leave very little middle ground between rare success and utter failure, I hope Bethesda isn't too badly damaged if it sinks.

You are probably going to have to remind me what those are because as far as I can see I cant really see the series as it is (Skyrim the most current game in the series) losing much should they happen to decide to go down the MMO route.

Of course that being said the biggest strength of Skyrim has always been its modding community which no doubt wouldnt be possible in an MMO but for the poor slobs on the "lesser platforms" I cant really see how the greatest strengths of Skyrim (which are currently a mystery to me, the only thing that comes to mind is size) would be lost in the jump from single player to MMO status.

Same for me. As an Mmorpg it would lose it's greatest feature, the mentioned possibility to mod it. Without mods it is a good game, with mods it becomes a glorious game.
And as we can see in case of f.e. WoW a Mmorpg is very bad for established fantasy lore and a collecting tank for the scum of the gaming community.

They already stated that there are no plans for creating a Dragon Age MMO.

I say nay to a Dragon Age MMO. I don't much like MMOs; they tend to be very repetitive, and are often nearly plotless.

First off, Skyrim is obviously the first Elder Scrolls game. And secondly, NO.

Skyrim is not becoming a MMO in any shape or form, elder Scrolls online is a seperate product. Also, no thanks for a DA MMO, not all series' needs to e turned into MMOs.

I was hopeful that Dragon Age 3 would be an MMO.

At the very least, I hope there's a PvP aspect and a hub system in Dragon Age 3. Gives me hope that maybe Dragon Age 4 will be an MMO.

GTFO.  I'm kidding, what is it about a DA MMO that you think would be so great? personally I'm not a big fan of MMO's because they seem very watered down compared to what you can get from stary and gameplay compared to a more traditional RPG.

What? Skyrim is the lastest in the Elder Scrolls series. Arena was the first in 1994.

No. The game would only degrade into a slashfest to get the best loot with repetitive quests and dungeons. 'But isn't it like that already right now?' No, because in the singleplayer game we have now, you have more of an ability to roleplay and create your own story and develop your own characters in your thoughts. An MMO would wipe that from the table and force you to play a rehash of always the same: level up/loot. Besides, as Bfler said, it would only become a collecting tank of the scum of the gaming community, immature brats yelling into their microphones and making vulgar jokes. No, Skyrim's charm would definitely be lost on me, were that to happen.

Just to be clear: I was talking about a Skyrim MMO in my previous post. When it comes to Dragon Age, even less of a no. The story would lose all of its relevance and so would companions. The former would not be given any attention to and the latter would only become relevant in terms of stats and who's the best for fighting. All in all, not a great idea. But with EA in power, such things certainly have a chance to happen, unfortunately. :/

If DA3 was announced as an MMO I would have had a BF, and lost all hope for BioWare. I would have no way to play it since my laptop is ****e, and another reason: playing any game online is painful to me. It loses the intimacy I think an RPG needs. I don't want other gamers running around, ruining immersion with their noobishness or Chuck Norris jokes.

If BioWare decides to make a different DA as an MMO, all power to them, but not for DA3 when it already has so much scrutiny thanks to ME3 and DA2.

I very well could be wrong and a lot of people could want DA3 to be an MMO, but my ****storm senses are tingling.

I am no big fan of MMOs either the best games i have played to date are both Bethesda releases, Fallout New Vegas, and Skyrim. Before those games it was Oblivion, and then because of a bit more focus DAO unseated Oblivion from the top spot having played DAO 22 times with a different build and some story overlap the game had depth. Along comes DA2 and well i have 3 characters, and only 2 completed plays DA2 is so bleh.

SKYRIM the best RPG to date and that is a big statement to make with DAO comming in a close second.

I don't want one but if it were to ever happen, they should open it up to consoles too.

Those kind of games can work on consoles, I think there's meant to be a final fantasy one coming out and there was phantasy star.

Lol if DA was ever made an MMO, BioWare would face massive riots and perhaps even Coup d'état attempts to their headquarters. (I am joking, of course.)

But seriously, wow... DA MMO? No, that would be so ab****ely ****, considering SWTOR, which was a complete failure.

Please no, how to keep the magic of DA when tons of kids (both young and old...) are shouting for eeepix and insulting everyone they meet ? To have loads of f-words instead of marvellous banting...DA is my retreat for moments of undisturbed rp, please keep it that way :)

I don't think it would work. I think many people will find the Elderscrolls online a disappointment too. For me, Elderscrolls games are only really great after you have made your own personal adjustments to the game with a few dozen mods. I shut off Oblivion on release day after just 4 hours because the stupid handholding quest/location markers completely destroyed the feeling of exploration. The MMO isn't going to have those option to make the game the way you want it. Even Skyrim which I have over 800 hours played so far took many alterations to make it feel right for me.

Also the MMO, you are going to lose that whole "special" unique you feeling. There can't be 10,000 dragonborns or nevarine running around. MMOs also tend to have shallow story lines and simplistic NPC characters, which is pretty much everything RPG players don't like.

No, I would prefer Bioware put those resources into making larger budgets for the next single player game. Make a single player game with all the depth and story we expect on an MMO scale world and charge $100 bucks a copy and it would be a stellar success.
