I currently have five characters that I cannot play properly, because when I use their specialized powers, my eyes hurt, and I get nausous.  I happen to know that this is not just a problem with me, as I have seen other threads about this.  I even tried turning down the brightness on my tv and it didn't help.  this is also going to make the machinist banner, and blood pack banner very difficult, as I need at least one of the geth characters challenge, and if I don't get it done quickly, I will need at least one vorcha challenge.  there is something seriously wrong with these powers.

Edit: also for some reason, I have no problem with any other power that tints the screen, or gives a "hud" like effect e.g. devastator mode, rage mode (except on hazard white)

Edit 2: please read the entire OP before commenting (especially the bolded part)  apparently many commenters are missing that sentence.

Edit 3:  I just tried to use my vorcha and realized that while it does not happen as quickly, bloodlust (especially when it is at full stack)  causes the same problem.  a toggle feature for the screen effects would be greatly appreciated (maybe just keeping the enemy highlights for HM, and highlighting the player's character in red for all other powers, like it is when in spectator mode)

Adjust the brightness on your tv/monitor, or save up to get some new eyes. You're welcome!

as I said, I dropped the brightness and it didn't help, as to your second suggestion, I kind of need them already (my eyesight sucks)

Bioware/EA doesn't care about your eye strain.

Or let Hunter Mode go. QMI, N7 Destroyer and QFE is fine too.

This. I don't get the complaining about the visual. It's an alien race ffs, they should see their environment differently from us.

It's not broken, so no need to fix it.

neither do I, but that doesn't help when my eyes are burning, and I feel like I am going to puke after two waves with it on.:(

I hate this geth 's vision, too. But as along as the bioware move away that big stupid triangle in the center, and make the screen a little darker, I will feel much better. Come on, bioware. This should be a common issue and a easy job to be fixed.

yah, but that was before the challenge system, now they kind of require some playtime with these characters that lose quite a bit of their usefulness without the power that I can't use.

Doesn't matter. Your health means little to them. Your money is the only thing they care about and they already have that since you purchased the game. Problem solved on their end.

The brightness is pretty annoying which is why I turn off hunter mode when each round ends and turn it back on when I see an enemy. Not much rest but at least it's not twenty solid minutes of eyeball searing whiteness.

One could easily program a few more options to affect the Heads up display in the options menu for example, and everyone could be satisfied... I hate the Destroyers vision mode too, but got used to it.

That strikes me eerily similar to someone epileptic complaining that playing Touhou Project isn't good for him/her. As in ridiculous.

If you have physical deficiencies that render a game or a part of a game unplayable to you without causing illness or alike, then don't play it. There are plenty enough characters and playstyles that do not involve Hunter Mode.

Least you're not alone in your suffering. Many others, myself included, have similar problems. Even after adjusting the in-game brightness and tv settings. It helped a little, in my case, but still gives me great eye-strain and headaches to play with Hunter Mode on. I tend to leave it off until wave 3 to help add to my playtime. Usually gives me enough of a relief that I can squeeze out one more match before I have to stop playing altogether due to physical discomfort.

As fate would have it, the GI is actually one of my favorite and best characters and I love running around with a claymore feeling like a glass cannon of ultimate destruction. Its really satisfying. Its just a pity I can't enjoy it for long without paying for it later with throbbing headaches and sore eyes.

If I'm playing silver I sometimes just avoid turning Hunter Mode on. Often times I forget that I have it off, and by wave 7 I'm like "wow maybe Im getting used to it my eyes feel fine and no headache... wait it isnt turnen on. Nvm." Seems weird that it takes me a moment to realize that its off, considering how obvious it is otherwise. The overlay is not at all subtle. All it needs to be less of a strain, imo, is to have the transparency adjusted. Its way too bright and in-your-face. Just make it more transparent and I bet it'd be tons better on the eyes.

I think the title should be "Please fix Hunter Mode Bioware." It always helps to be civil =).

Anyways, as blasphemous as it may be, I just spec out of HM because I literally cannot play with it on. I know I'm sacrificing battlefield awareness, ROF Buffs, Power Damage Buffs, etc. but it is just not worth it for me. No challenge directly requires the use of Hunter mode, so far as I know, and non-HM builds can be effective on gold. Before anyone calls me out, I am not saying that any geth class is better without HM, just that you can get by without it if you cannot stand HM like me.

I was okay with it until I woke up 2 days later after an excessive amount of playing and my vision was just as blurry as when I turn Hunter Mode on.

I don't turn it on ever since, because my eyes say, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo"

There's a texture mod that makes Hunter Mode less of an eyestrain, however it doesn't remove the blur, only the overlay - so I personally can't use HM even with the mod. But it might help you out if brightness is your only problem.

Well you can toggle it. Turn it off when it's too much for you.

Nothing is broken, there is nothing to fix.

Just roll a no-Hunter Mode Flamer build on Geth Trooper like I do.
