Bioware, could you please take a look at powers with screen modification?

I love the Geth Engineer and Infiltrator, but using hunter mode with them I can't play more than two games in a row before my eyes are too strained, and the headaches/migraines start.

It's horrible to play with, and I specced out of hunter mode for my trooper.

Bioware have said they have no plans to change it, but PLEASE make it so that the effects are more subtle and/or visually toggle-able for the next game. It's not fair to not be able to use a character you love because of the story, to its full advantage because you don't want to feel sickness and pain.

I agree with this completely. Sometimes I can tolerate it fine, but other times it's terrible to use. It wouldn't be hard for them to fix this issue, all they'd have to do is remove the blur and maybe tone down the brightness a bit in one of the patches. The blur is pointless, and it apparently causes health problems, so why the hell is there such a backlash against people saying it should be removed or AT LEAST toned down, which would at best be trivial for Bioware to accomplish. After all, PC players have done it themselves through mods.

The blur, the brightness, and a very subtle flash that most people dont even notice. It's essentially an epileptic nightmare, which they'd likely play off to the health warning at the start of most games/ systems regarding epilepsy issues. Dont have such direct headache issues, but do find it difficult as hell to focus after a few minutes (a severe issue considering my love of sniping and sudden lack of aim!)

It looks like the start of a migraine to me, so I either spec out of it completely or just flick it on briefly to find and dispose of the baddies. It'd be great if they could just tone it down a notch. I guess it's easy to point the finger of scoff if it doesn't bother you, but it would be a cool move on the devs part to take the significant feedback on this into account. For many people its just a bit full on, and it wouldn't lose anything by being dialled back a bit.

I don't have any problems with hunter mode... I barely notice it (aside from the wall hax handiness) after I activate it. The only difficulty it brings me is how hard it is to spot the objective markers with all that extra HUD gibberish

Hunter mode gives me a headache as well, so I never spec into it anymore. I can still play gold extremely well without it, so I figure it's not such a big loss. There aren't any challenges that require it, so just learn to play without it since it's obvious BW won't do anything to change it.

Hunter mode doesn't bother me until about the 3rd or 4th game in a row with it on, then it starts giving me headaches and eye strain. But it's not as bad as Rage mode on White Hazard.

I either only play one game at a time in Hunter mode, or I just play a Geth Engineer without it.

And it's not as easy to fix as the Mattock or Hornet, I can program a macro to auto fire those guns and avoid the finger problem entirely. There's nothing I can do about Hunter mode, even turning the brightness down doesn't stop it from affecting me.

It's the only video game I've ever played that does this to me. Seriously, I've been playing since Zork 1 and it's the only game that messes with my eyes.

The bolded parts above are my feelings exactly.  Fortunately, I don't find HM completely debilitating.  I can handle 2 games, maybe 3, before I start getting eye strain and a mild headache.  After that, though, I have to switch to a different kit.  Unfortunately, I think the affect is more severe for some.

Also...props for the Zork reference.  I remember playing that and Jupiter Jumpman on my Dad's work computer as a kid.  It was so old it had one of those modem attachements things that you had to set the phone on to send/receive.  Ah, good times... :)

I wear contacts. Hunter mode can be less straining if I wear my glasses, but this is true with playing video games in general. I only notice additional strain from hunter mode if I wear contacts and I play more than one match with a Geth.

Additionally, I find turning off HM for just a couple of seconds between rounds to be helpful. And it might help if you turn HM off for objectives where survivability helps.

It doesn't take long to get used to. A couple matches should suffice. However, everbody is different, and none of the geth characters require hunter mode to be good. Geth infiltrator has standard debuffing power and tactical cloak for damage boost, geth engineer has overload and turret, trooper has fortification and flamer. Just spec into fitness.

PS: I would personally say give hunter mode a few chances. Once you get used to it, the you'll prefer it. Better situational awarenes and especially that damage buff. It's pretty amazing.

For those saying it should really be toned down: some of us can use hunter mode game after game all day, and it is worth it for the damage and awareness bonus. The seizure display is to balance those bonuses.
We're all different, and you really don't need hunter mode for your Geth to be really effective and fun to play. Hunter mode seems like it's only for glass cannon gameplay and finding enemies quicker.

I approve! the hunter mode needs to be looked at it's like 3d view without 3d glasses, i'm not getting blind from it, but it is over the top definitely.

To all the posts claiming Bioware 'doesn't care' and whatnot, I saw a post from a mod stating that, at this moment, it's not possible on their end to modify the game code and alter the visual effects of HM.I don't know how much legitimacy there is to that, but the guy seemed honest enough.

I doubt they'd just ignore such a topic if they were able to fix it.

Krogan's rage mode also suffers from this problem, and So does the turian marksmanship to a lesser extent. The problem in not with the HUD, its with that damn filter that adds a blurr effect to the environment. Distroyer mode did it perfectly. It didnt aply a filter to the inviroment, only to the character. Please Bioware fix this. Just remove the filter from those modes. I want to utilize those characters to the fullest but I cant becuase I feel like my eyes are going to bleed when I play them. I dont think that you specifically designed those powers to make us blind, right?

It may be that your eyes or your brain or w/e are very susceptable to epilpsy/seizures from rapidly strobing lights or rapid flickering colors. Put your brightness levels back to whatever they were and try adjusting gamma levels instead. Or turn your saturation/contrast down to bring the overall color palette closer to a greyscale. Yes it will suck but if it works, it works. Otherwise you already know bioware's stance on the situation :o

Its not that bioware doesn't care, its just that if you can't use 0.7% of the game, its not a big deal. Seriously though. I know people who don't use it and do fine. If they tried to Taylor everything to suit everyone, games would cost hundreds of dollars.

they've already adressed many of the games problems in previous patches, what's stoping them from fixing this one thing in next patch?

Addressed the games problems? This isn't a problem. The problems affect everyone. This issue doesn't.
