I hate hunter mode deeply. Not for the triangle-ish forms, but the blur. The blur is unbearable and makes the match a pain. I hope some BSNer makes a mod that removes the blur, since BW/EA don't give a damn

Hunter mode is purely for finding enemies. It is hard to see the environment because hunter mode requires you to know the maps inside and out. A hint to this is the fact that it takes away half your shields.

yes, and since it takes away half of the char's shields, I don't see why it should take away half the player's sight too

The part you omitted was the answer to that. Hunter mode is for those who are already knowledgeable about the game and have the maps memorized inside and out, to make use of soft cover and better utilize glass cannon tactics.
To better answer your point about sight, consider the context I have related with memorization and notice that hunter mode increases vision for detecting enemies and sacrifices environmental awareness.
That is your proposed answer.

Hunter mode and devestator mode are powerfull abilites that I can only use for a few matches. (Strains my eyes)
I play another class when that happens.
If it causes pain, headaches, etc...should be changed. (If only a little bit)

Giving us the possibility to disable it would be a good start.

Not much point in having a power if you are not going to use it.
Doesn't matter to me if they change it or not.  But some can't use it at all.
I have tried mutiple builds.  It's fun and again powerfull to use but irritating even when used sporadically.

Oh common, you expect bioware to compromise their artistic integrity?

Imyself hate it but I don't rely on normal vision, I don't focus ont he effect but isntead reap a benafit most don't see, it somehow also helps oddly see thigns in a "diffrent light" you can see things ona much more heighten scale of movement as the world dosn't jsut get brighterit oddly gets a blurry tinge too, I able to kinda ton my own focus down and just concentrait on other things I do wish Hunter mode did not do this and I wish BW would make certain OTHER thigns more visually better liek pyros explosion or otehr stuff..but they won't and maybe can't who knows I mean destroyer mode bugs me mroe than Huntermode cause of that small infared display thing thats kinda useless...I mean if it was a BACK camera I like it better... with yaknow colour...nto red ick

The community isn't the problem, a visual effect that causes health issues for many players is.

Hahaha funniest thing I've read today.  Just what health issues does using hunter mode cause?  Do you have scientific data to back up this hilarious claim or are you mislabeling mild eye irritation that may or may not be caused by hunter mode as a "health issue"?

...are you serious?

The vanguard glitch only affected Vanguard players. What's your point?

I didn't read the full topic outside of the OP and a few others. I don't get nauseous myself when playing, but I find the UI pretty terrible in general. From the art/design perspective, it looks slapped together with no real sense of function and a mish-mash of styles. I don't even get the impression that I would truly be looking through the Geth's eye anyway.

It wouldn't have passed my design quality test to start.

I currently have three characters that I cannot play properly, because when I use their specialized power, my eyes hurt, and I get nausous.

Strangely enough, I don't seem to have any problem with the Hunter Mode (other than the fact that I can't easily spot objective markers with it), but I have a definite problem with the Destroyer's Devastator Mode. There was a time when I couldn't spot any enemies at all - it was so badly distracting. Over time, I've got used to it, though. Although I sometimes question myself about it.

Neofelis Nebulosa wrote...

That strikes me eerily similar to someone epileptic complaining that playing Touhou Project isn't good for him/her. As in ridiculous.

Since when is complaining about a problem ridiculous? In the very least it brings attention to the fact that such problems actually exist.

If you have physical deficiencies that render a game or a part of a game unplayable to you without causing illness or alike, then don't play it. There are plenty enough characters and playstyles that do not involve Hunter Mode.

Fair enough, but you are generally missing the point. If such complaints are not made, then BioWare would not be aware that such problems actually exist. I don't think we as players have any "right" per se in such matters (such as to make demands about it), but there is always the hope that such design (mostly aesthetic in this case) can be re-looked at by BW for their future games.

EDIT: Formatting fix...

didnt just affect vanguards. affected entire sqaud when someone "glitched". Glitched as in un-intentional error. There is now downside by and large to HM. Your comparison is not valid.

If the people of this world didn't take charge about things they felt needed to change, why the world wouldn't be what it is today. This problem might be trivial, yes, but that does not mean one should just deal with it. That's an argument a loser would make.

"A victor speaks of how to world should be, rather than how it is."

THAT my good man/woman is how the world changes. I digress though as my eyes have adjusted to Hunter Mode. I play in a dim lighted setting, which seems to make the issue go away.

My bad for not being accurate enough. I didn't mean disabling the Geth Hunter Mode, but disabling post-processing effects in general. Many games have that in their settings so why not ME3 ?

I sympathize with your problem but it seems different people are affected by different things. I don't play Geth that often, but when I do I never have a problem with hunter mode. The Destroyer though i have to avoid as Devastator mode gives me a migraine headache pretty quick. What can Bioware do? Remove all visual effects from the game? It's a shame but I think those of us affected in this way just have to live with it.

they could simply add a toggle function so that those affected can have either a modified screen effect (highlight the player character for all powers not HM and simply highlight enemies with HM without adding all the other effects)  again this would be a toggle, so that those who want the screen effects and are unaffected by them don't have anything change, but those incapable of currently using those powers can now use them.

I skipped HM on the Geth Engineer and it works just fine. I use the Geth Plasma Shotgun so I don't need the accuracy or ROF bonuses.
