I like Varric the most due to his personality and him being a dwarf. Even when I'm playing as an archer Hawke, I still bring Varric along because the game just isn't the same without him.
My second favorite is probably Alistair. He was like a brother-figure to my wardens and I liked his personality when he wasn't crying about something (like Duncan).
Who is everyone's favorite Dragon Age series character and why?

Flemeth.
She is really entertaining, well written and what few appearances she has in game are really memorable.

I haven't met a party member I didn't like. But if you put a gun to my head and forced me to pick one I liked the best, I'd say Merrill. She was very bubbly, sweet, funny and generally a pleasure to be around. She's also very pretty.

Flemeth definitely.
I'm curious to see what her involvement will be in DA3.

Probably Morrigan and Varric are the most memorable and deep characters. I like many others alot as well. Ones I don't like are Anders and Fenris, whom I refer to as moody and broody. Hopefully DA3 will have some guys that are a little deeper and not so mono-emotional.

Almost every DAO companion. They're all badass and funny.
From DA2, I'd give it to Varric, Aveline and Merrill.
Though the best of the best is the Hero of River Dane, Loghain.

I don't especially like Alistair but I consider him maybe the best written character of the whole DA universe. His flaws are what make him fascinating and my PCs love having disagreements with him. The comparison might be a bit unfair though because he gets more screen time than other companions.
Isabela is the person I like the most. She's also remarkably well written. She challenged my preconceptions. I assumed she'd be a stereotypical sexualized female lead but instead she ended up being a confident and mature adult who accepts herself and her desires.
The best antagonist prize goes to Loghain. I don't want villains who are crazy, I want them to have clear motives. Loghain has a solid, if flawed, philosophy, which makes him appealing. He's also a father who loves his daughter. That's surprisingly rare in video games.

Isn't this a little bit off topic? This is the Dragon Age 3 General Discussion forum after all...
Oh well, enough of my anal retention. I'll bite!
My favourite Dragon Age series character is Teyrn Loghain. He's ruthless, he's a bastard, he's a xenophobic jerk, and yet everything he does is motivated by love for his country. He's an anti-villain.
The ends he desires are predominantly good: that Ferelden have a strong ruler, that Ferelden remain free, that the Blight be brought to an end. The methods he chooses to achieve those ends and some of the company he keeps are less good.
I'm also a big fan of Wynne. She was like an opposite sex Obi-Wan to my first Warden, even though my Warden wasn't a mage. Wynne is wise and gentle, but also prickly when she needs to be. Killing her off in one of my later playthroughs was not easy, but I felt I should, for sake of variety.
At the end of the day I find most of the party members likeable for one reason or another.

In no particular order;
- Morrigan
- Varric
- Loghain
- Shale (actually, I think she's my favourite)
- Alistair.
- And Garrus! No? Fine, Fenris.
- Sten
I like my sarcasm, and my broody elf's that can have their moments but are otherwise entertaining with banter.

Morrigan, cause she is the snarkist, sexiest being. Her first concept arts where way better than her ingame model, but that was cause of dao slim shemale female bodies.
google it - origins female character models were the male ones with less weight.

Morrigan, Alistair and Varric. A lot of characters have been superb in the DA:O and DA2 games, but when I think of DA:O I immediately think about Morrigan and Alistair, and when I think about DA2 I immediately think about Varric.

Morrigan. She's beautiful and intelligent, despite being slightly misguided. She's exotic, mysterious, and powerful. The perfect woman... too bad she's a fictional character
She's also arguably the most iconic character in the franchise. When I think of Dragon Age, I think of that Blood Dragon logo and Morrigan before anything else.
My next pick would be Isabela, because she's so real. She constantly reminds me of a good RL friend of mine, personality-wise.

The Aimless Templar of Kirkwall. Trapped for an eternity within the realm of mortals, cursed to wander the streets relentlessly in search of blood mages, he is blinded by his own fanatical desire to please the order and incapable of fulfilling his duty as a result.
Long shall his tortured soul helplessly seek that which his eyes cannot see.
Such depth, such complexity. Truly a remarkable character.

Zevran is hilarious, driven by self interest but he has a soft spot if you know how to find it after all he went through in his life to retain the amount of humanity he had, the compassion for the mages his distaste for slaughter of the Dalish, and the fact that he is so freaking funny! He nevr lets his personal feelings get in the way of his own self interest with the exception of the warden and since I was the warden that was endearing.
Alistair because as noble as he tries to be he is also selfish and a little bit racist in spite of his extremely low sense of self worth or maybe because of it he feels it is okay to fall in love with an elf or a dwarf. I just feel this really makes him a dynamic and well rounded character and he is FUNNY!!
Morrigan she is the epitome of awesomeness. Flawless and flawed so frustrating and so cool. I am amazed by her depths because at first she is just this seemingly arrogant annoying disaprrover of everything I do but by the end of every game she is like a sister and it breaks my heart that she won't let me stay by her side when she leaves with Alistairs OGB.
I really cannot decide between the 3 they were all top notch characters that I loved in every playthru who stay with me whenever I hear a good song on the radio or play a different game and I think man Zev woulda done that or you are so lucky Morrigan is not here or wheres Ali when I need him.
