Meredith, Strangely enough. Crazy but emotionally strong woman, she was.

I liked Meredith too.  And I played an insanely pro-mage Hawke my first time through.  Go figure.

She's like Loghain--there's a lot more to Meredith than meets the eye.

Alistair -- such a charming, daft, golden-hearted boy. Plus, he was a virgin. Which made him extra adorable.
And Oghren -- pure drunken dwarven entertainment. What else could I ask?

Alistair, and the "original" Anders. So you can imagine my horror at seeing what happened to Anders later.......Image IPB

I loved Alistair because of his innocence and Anders because of his humor.

Flemeth probably, very mysterious and intriguing, in many ways the centre point that the dragon age universe rotates around, and manages to be threatening, funny, inspiring and oddly caring all at the same time. Also she can turn into a dragon, what's not to like. Also, Kate Mullgrew is characteristically brilliant.

I could list about 50 though.

Leliana, because she comes back to life and doesn't afraid of anything.

Morrigan she was a character who was always interesting to listen to and the way she acts when she starts to realize that she is falling in love with the male grey warden was just funny as hell to watch.

I think I liked the pursuit of Morrigan more than I actually liked her character. Leliana with her full-blown dedication and unwavering love (unless you want to be an ass and push her one button), plus that innocent girl covering up the devious past thing is pretty cool. I also really liked Sten for his strong discipline and beliefs.

Oh yeah, the Warden too, because he was awesome.

Alistair (Best Romance Bioware has ever created, hands down)
Lelliana
Merrill
Anders
Sigrun <3

And favorite non-companion NPC is BRANKA, the true star of DAO. Paragon of Her Kind, while long, was fantastic almost purely due to her and Hespith.

Favorite irrelevant NPC: Dagna (Dwarf girl who wants study in the circle) She's such a superstar its fantastic.

It's really difficult to pick just one. I loved all the companions in DA:O, and several NPCs, but if I did have to pick one in particular it would have to be Oghren. His dialogue is too funny not to love and on the odd occassion that he opens up to you, every belched word is incredibly heartwarming.

I liked him in the first. In DA2 he gets kinda creepy. He probably goes through my....I mean Hawkes things when left alone sniffing and pawing them with his lyrium addled fingers.....

Alistair, funny, romantic and sweet. Even when I was a male Warden he was my "bro-mance"

Zevran & Varric, my two favorite rogues and I never went anywhere without them if I could help it.

Very few I disliked but these were my top three I liked the most.

My favorite non companion was Bann Teagan.

Same here - in that order and for the same reasons. If they are in the game - they are in the group, the rest may vary.

Though, I would add Fenris and Anders to the list. They are so well written.

You know... on the second thought I can not choose, or have to set with the list above :)

The City Elf Female Warden and the Noble Dwarf Warden are two of my favourite characters, even without considering the subsequent development at the hand of the players: they just start off as amazing characters, not just white canvas to write on.

That being said, I think Shale and Sten are amongst the best characters Gaider wrote, probably because of their uncanny personalities. But I love the Dragon Age companions so much that it's difficult to decide, I'd probably say that my favourite characters are simply THE characters of the Dragon Age Universe.

Merril, Varric and Alistair were my favorites I think.

Honestly I could list off half of the other companions in the game too, Oghren, Shale, Wynne, Leliana, Anders, Isabella, Sten. All great characters.

But if I had to pick a favorite it be between Varric and Merril. But I refuse to pick. I've decided that they're both smaller than your average human so it counts as one choice. Also, she's attached to Varric by a string of yarn anyway.

But...but... there are just so many! WHY MUST YOU TORTURE ME SO?! It'll be quicker to list the characters that I hate to be honest.

Post-Awakening Anders, Justice, (since forever), Oghren, Vaughn and ALL the bloody Mabari Hounds. All the rest, apart from the minoriest characters, I like/love. I think.

Wait, what? You hate Oghren? What the £(%*&)(%*&"%?

How is that physically possible?

I've got at least a top 5 list:
•Alistair. He actually felt like my best friend in DA: O. Also, Swooping is bad.
•Oghren. Though he may be downright disgusting, he always gave the game a sort of light-hearted charm.
•Anders. The guy is just plain fun, and I did like him in both Awakening, and DAII.
•Leliana. Love that girl. Her accent especially.
•Bodhan/Sandel. These two complete each game. DAIII would be incomplete without them.

Varric would be a 6th one. Only characters I hate are the douchebags like Rendon Howe.
