I personally do not want to play as a fereldan again.

e.g. [choice 1]"You hail from the Free Marches, descended from a noble house in Kirkwall (or Starkhaven or wherever). [choice 2] You fought as a mercenary during the recent civil war in Ferelden.
Both choices would obviously have subtle effects on encounters, sets of side-quests, etc. in the game.
But yeah, I want to be able to choose whether I'm from Ferelden, the Free Marches, Orlais, Rivain, Antiva, Nevarra, the Anderfels, or the Tevinter Empirium.

I am really bored with the fantasy=British accent thing. The modern British accent didn't even exist in medieval or renaissance times.
For that matter neither did the English language as any of us would recognize it. You aren't suggesting that BioWare make the game in Middle English are you?

I want to always have the "option" to be ferelden
Agreed. There will be backgrounds and I sure hope being a Fereldan is one of them. For me it's not the issue of accent. I speak English with a fairly strong foreign accent myself. It will be just as easy/difficult for me to identify with a French accent as it is with an English one.
The reason I want at least my "canon" PC to be from Ferelden is that I'm attached to that culture. I like mud, dogs, countryside, spunky attitude and lack of dandyism. For Fereldans providing your family is more important than putting on airs. I guess I've sort of developed a sense of patriotism towards Ferelden. Ferelden is also the most similar to my real home country out of all places on Thedas (based on codex entries).
I would be nice to have other background options. I don't mind if PC voice acting is same for all even if the characters have different nationalities. Bioware has retconned worse things and, in this case, I'll gladly exchange consistency to more options.

I really don't see the problem with accents from Orlais, sure some are over the top and ridiculous, but if we were to have a pc with Orlesian accent BioWare wouldn't make it one of those, probably something light. Like Leliana's.
If I really had to pick however I want the Antivan accent, I always found them to be sexy

As far as accents, judging by DA2, everybody seems to have an English accent. Except maybe the Antivans. But Isabella-Rivain---English accent.
Even Anders, though I guess he grew up in Fereldan? So, maybe Fereldan = English accent.
I have a feeling, tho, they're gonna stick with the English accent thing. I wouldn't mind a French accent myself. Like Lelianna? I'd be okay with that.

I wouldn't mind that. I'd never choose it though. I'm sick of Ferelden. There's an entire world in the game to explore, and I've had enough of the most generic one.

I wonder if we'll be a Marcher. Start with a Fereldan because that's where the first game was set, then a Fereldan fleeing to the Free Marches, so maybe a Marcher who moves (is assigned to, perhaps) to Orlais.
I want this, of course that means that the pc for da4 will be Orlesian...

I just hope the game itself doesn't focus on Ferelden or its people in any significant way... or on the Grey Wardens - those are the two things that I'm probably most bored of in the DA universe.
+ I couldn't care less about the accent as there will be no clue of it in the German version anyway.

However, if the origins have different nations, but different backgrounds (eg, the nevarran PC's family was killed in a raid by bandits, and the tevinter PC is from a prominent magister family) I'll pick my origin based on the story, not the nation.
However, hopefully we can choose our nation and then our "background" separately. That'd be great.

And if we happen to encounter Fereldens, I want to remark how much their country smells like wet dog.
