ZOMG a female ME player

What I find most surprising is that all of them play on X-Box, and that's because of the horribly foul language and attitudes of the average XBL player.

Legit reason.
But it's kinda sad that women can't talk during games because they are afraid of some guy hitting on them (or bored of it, pick your reason). Again too bad, because it's fun to strategize and shout dangers while playing.
Oh and... I BEAT YOU ON ONE OF THE SILVER MATCHES IN SCORE! Yes! I'm awesome! WHO-HOO! Oh I am so good... Take that! Haha!
*dances*
You did? When was this? I don't play much silver, mainly gold but I've been needing extractions and you can't always get those in PUG gold matches.

Sounds like a Master Race problem to me.
Lots of females on PSN, so must only be news-worthy for PC players?
Maybe playing from the sofa is more appealing? and they seem to prefer co-op or team focused games: I remember in SOCOM 1/2 days when whole clans were female, and many jumped to the PS3.
Another PSN female here. And I would agree about the preference for co-op games. PvP doesn't appeal to me, and I find it frustrating in general (although I enjoy occasionally watching my husband play COD with his buddies). Maybe it goes back to primitive stuff, but I have more fun being a productive member of the "tribe" repelling the enemy, rather than dueling person-to-person competitively. The only competitiveness I feel is if someone is running the same kit I am... I like to try and do better on the scoreboard than him/her, but not to some overwhelming extent.

Lots of women play but I guess they tend not to voice chat. I heard my first woman on the mic a few days ago and I was honestly surprised/taken aback by it. Funny, considering that I am also a female gamer.
I'll admit, although I'm a female gamer, I always get surprised/excited when I hear another female on the mic. I'm so used to playing with the boys and just being "one of the guys".

I've noticed a lot of females around here are attracted to other females and Garrus. So you're probably out of luck.
LOL! Yeah, there are some. While I'll admit a Garrus attraction, I'm married to a male. Gaming couple, actually, although he doesn't play ME3 MP nearly as much as I do.

There's a lot of women who play this game, you probably played with some of them.
I don't know why the surprise, girls like games too..
Yeah, that's something that has always made me scratch my head. Video games are a form of entertainment, just like watching TV, reading books, etc. Girls like other hobbies and forms of entertainment, so why are video games so different?

Dammit, really? Girl is condescending too now? People always told me to stop using the term '****es' as a general term for women. Don't know if the forum censor thing will censor that ****, but the word starts with a 'B.' Can someone just give me a list of non-condescending terms so I can stop pissing the women in my life off?
I'm a chick, and find no nickname for "woman" to be condescending. You can call me female, woman, girl, chick, chica, lady, etc. I don't care. I might get ruffled if you call me the B-word or C-word and do so in a manner that isn't obviously a joking manner (I have actually called Phantoms or Banshees the C-word in-game and had the guys in the lobby freak out about it, LOL). Pretty much, the only way to offend me is to tell me I suck.

I run into female gamers all the time. A lot of us PS3ers just don't have mics. (didn't come with the system, not attached to a pair of headphones like pc mics). I keep hoping I'll run into Dragon Racer, but I'm usually in Bronze pugs and I don't think we're on at the same time. Sadface.
What time are you usually on? Admittedly, I am generally in private Silver/Gold matches or PUGs these days, but have dipped into Bronze PUGs recently chasing challenges. Friend me, I'll run some matches with you if we're both on.

You might have been playing for the challenge or something. *shrug*

I'm terrible at making female friends (because I don't have much in common with women I guess). But the few ones I've played with are all pretty damn good players.
Not that I minded if they weren't. I'm playing for fun.

Wow, someone else who likes Doctor Who, Star Wars, and Battlestar Galactica? Too bad you're on PS3, we could have great talks.
Anyways, I find with sci-fi you get both ends of the spectrum with women; some claim to know it and end up not knowing any at all, and others know more than most guy geeks. And frankly, I've found more girls interested in Doctor Who and Battlestar Galactica than guys.
I admit I only know the new BSG so far. I will get round to the old one too, but I haven't gotten that far yet. (Dying to see male Starbuck.) Also, I am not all too familiar with the new Star Wars. That said, I am a geek, and a fangirl, and can be horribly annoying if the conversation turns to movies.
On something a bit more related to the thread, I have not had any guys hitting on me while playing. Maybe because I meet decent guys, or maybe I just sound unattractive. I've met a couple of annoying people, and one flat out insulting one, but none of those were related to gender in any way. Maybe I've just been lucky, or maybe there are more cool guys out there than awkward ones. ^^ I choose to believe the latter.
Also, I don't think I've ever been insulted at being called girl.

Yeah that sounds about right. Lol. I typically score higher with biotic classes though. Played a gold match as a drell adept on Rio today, my score was a little ridiculous.
I'm normally not outscored in a PUG match, so yeah you are awesome

Same here, but it may be a PSN thing? I have literally had not one bad experience gender-wise, and I am fairly active on my mic. Guys either take it in stride, think it's cool, or don't care that I'm a female. I've experienced no harrassment and not been hit on.
Also, nobody would want me to get back in the kitchen. Truly. I can't cook to save my life. I can bake awesome cornbread that brings my husband to tears, and great sweet potato casserole that is the hit of every Thanksgiving, but other than that... I suck. My husband is the chef of the family. LOL I am actually sitting here very much being the stereotypical dude of our relationship... I am surfing BSN, watching a college football game (is anybody else watching Texas A&M doing everything they can to upset Alabama at home???? OMG...), drinking rum, relaxing from a full day of gaming, and smelling my husband cook dinner.

Haha, most likely it was just some "off game" for you.
I've started playing gold a bit more lately. I take babysteps in difficulty levels personaly. And I mostly pug with few friends now and then. Noticed that gold isn't THAT hard, even when it gets bit hairy at times.
