I was in a match with a girl who was flirting at me because she was bad and wanted to be carried. After the match I told her she was bad and should feel bad for assuming I'm a deprived sexually starved male and we kicked her.

Chivalry is dead.

If I play with girls, I try to make game as much fun for them as possible. i.e. reviving, doing objectives, letting them kill most enemies.

Psh, and you don't do this stuff with guys? I feel left out now.

There are a lot of females playing the game, nothing to be surprised about.

Im on Xbox and I play with 3 females. One gets on more often, but she's hard to get in a private match. She has at least 3k n7. She's a very team oriented, talented player. She's actually the highest on my friends list. Another one is decent, but she moved on. The last one is almost never on.
There was this one time when I ended up in a PUG with 3 British girls about 9-12. I must say, the accent is only sexy when they're adults. Nobody stayed for more than 5 min.

There are way too many women playing. They come to our planets and take our kills.

Most girls who play this game are console players oddly enough. I've only ever met 4 girls who play this on PC since launch.

I can't really shed light on this, but my personal experience was that my father was a console gamer (Atari/Intellivision). He taught me how to game and I grew up playing with him on those systems, plus SNES, etc.

Now, I have played some PC games. I remember playing Doom on my uncle's rig back when I was much younger, and I just finished ME1 on my laptop (I bought it several months ago thinking it would never come to PS3... and about a month later ME Trilogy was announced, LOL). But I am just more comfortable with a controller in my hand, rather than a keyboard and mouse, so that's why I console game.

God so many people here are pathetic & sad. Does it matter if the player who is playing MP or indeed any game a female or a male or a transgender even ?

As long they are reasonably competitive and doing relatively well & having fun does it matter what gender they are ? Really..this is pathetic...

I'm betting they'll speak more frequently on the PS3. Xbox Live has a bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, BAD reputation for misogynistic and homophobic ****tards, so it's no wonder that they wouldn't use mics, yeah?

Truthfully, though, I know the feeling. I mean, I'm in a steady relationship, love my woman, all that, but just because I'm a guy, things always seem slightly better when there are women around. I'd wager that just about anyone else with a Y chromosome feels similar, even if they won't admit it.

We women like having you fellas around too :)

It's very individual decission for sure. Generalization is bad.

I can't believe that some people try that...

- Why do you play online games?
- To meet girls/guys and have a relationship.

Internet never ceases to amaze me

Pd: If you ask, I only play online with friends or in games where people scarcely uses microphones, so I've barely seen stuff like this.

Gamer guys, that's what we do, we hit on anything that sounds even vaguely female, why do you think so many girls just pretend to be guys when they play online? Or not talk altogether?

Yeah, one reason I don't use my mic. Or tell people anything about myself on a personal level, like what state I live in.
I've actually been stalked before.

If a guy wants to know what it can be like for a woman in gaming, and they have a playstation 3, load up playstation home, and play a bit over a few days as a female avatar. <.< You'll prolly get hit on, PMed, and friend requested out of the blue fairly often.

Honestly, I don't even wanna talk online most times. Few people talk strategy, nevermind have -good- strategies.

Sexist jokes are the best. When they are just that, jokes.

I'm pretty sure most of them are joke (At least mine are), BSN can be many things, but in my two and half years on this place I've barely seen sexism in the comments ('cept for the "Same sex romance" thread, that place was pretty agressive from time to time)

Playstation Home is useless. I tried it out for a day, and all it is is a Sims game with real people playing the avatars and being creepy. No, thanks.

Yeah, I actually got hit on once shortly after release because I was using a female Human Engineer instead of male.

Anyway, if I ever play online with women, I rarely know it because they don't use their mics.  I did play with one last night who was probably the best player in our group.  In fact, most of the women with mics that I have played with have been pretty good.

Whether or not they are good at the game is irrelevant, the fact that certain groups of players are scared to be heard while enjoying what is for a lot of them their favorite pastimes is absurd...

Seeing some of these posts (however not yours, miniditka77) makes me ashamed of my gender (male)

I'm on it every once in a while with my partner.

Heaven help you if you're in a female avatar. Worse yet, if you're with another female avatar, or more. <.<
Hard to have a conversation without being interrupted by some guy that wants in.
I know a few guys that understand the way women get treated coz they followed my advice.

And, yeah, it does get creepy. It generally does.

MMOs are similar experiences.

In general, it feels like guys suddenly shift gears when they know I'm female. It annoys me pretty much always. I'm just in the game to play it. I don't wanna talk. I don't wanna be hit on. I like being called by at least part of my screen name. It's not complicated. :P

I like being one of the guys playing the game, relaxing, and as far as MEMP goes, being part of the team, shooting, reviving, objectives, etc.

Thank you for acknowledging something that many others missed. It really sucks that we have to be scared to speak on the mic (I only speak with friends) because we're going to get a) hate comment B) you suck comments c) go to the kitchen comments d) you're flirting so that I carry you (though I heard that for the first time in this thread... silly BSN users)... etc.

We all were at that age once where just interacting with the opposite gender was exciting awkward and new.

being a little be older and more experience teaches you that women are like men: some great ones some not so great ones.

I think you should be friendly and try to make friends with everyone. That way you can see who is worth playing with and who is not.

I get how the female voice is typically more pleasing to hear for the straight male, but there's really nothing shocking or surprising about women who play online video games.
