Now, I really don't know what the conversation wheel is going to look like for DA3, but it occurred to me that one way to improve the flirts (and maybe some of the other options) would be to have the <3 wheel option work like the Investigate wheel option, and have it take you to a new menu where you can select from various options.

Heck, this could be done (time/budget allowing) for lots of the options.  It'd allow for a lot more branching in the conversation tree at the very least, which would make it easier to cleverly hide valuable info so you'd have to go looking for it.

Just a thought.

that sounds like a good Idea, if they have the resources to spare.

More options are always nice but it's unlikely I think.

I support this, though I doubt it'll be in DA3. I hated the really unsubtle borderline-Zevran flirts of DA2. It'd be nice to have some romantic, Alistair-y flirts and then when you're in the mood (for dancing, romancing), some unsubtle, "Mmm, nice hind quarters", ones.

It would be nice, particularly if they're going to record different flirts for different dominant tones anyway as they did in DA2.

What options would you like to see? Just various kinds of flirts, ranging from sweet like Alistair to barely a double-entendre like Zevran?

I agree with this...but for other areas.

Like, say for tones and responses.

I think that is a really AWESOME idea actually. In fact, It could be used for multiple branching options on many different topics.

That has always been my biggest beef with the wheel design. It limited topics and responses greatly. I don't mind the wheel interface itself, but it some topics should open more wheels.

Branching options for different tones would be awesome, but they've said that would be way too much to handle (I believe it was to Sylvius' request about two tiered dialog choices).

Branching options for just the heart choices... I think that would come off pretty badly tbh.

This I like.  Multiple responses branching from different tones.  So when you are trying to be stern, you don't necessarily have to be a complete jerk.

The point of the wheel is to limit choice and dialogue options, <3 opening up a whole new menu would be extra resources and "most people" don't do romances, finish the game, etc...as cool as it would be, they will never do it.

I like how several different flirt options in Dragon Age Origins could lead to romance. In DA2, the options are more limited since there is only one flirt option. I would love to have more romantic option in each speech instead of just one.

From a resource perspective, I doubt we'd see this. If the dominant personality system were to remain intact, though, it might be possible to at least have one or two variations on a flirt line. But I think dialogue branching would definitely be off the table.

I think this might be the best idea ever.

I cringed every time I flirted. Especially with Sebastian. *eyeroll*

That wasn't the character I wanted to play at all. I'd personally never speak to another human being that way and expect them to respond with anything but laughter or a swift *flee*. I might have played that kind of character on a much later playthrough, but it was definitely never my first choice.

Being able to choose the tone of our flirt icons would be incredibly fantastic (or at least having them affected by our dominant conversation tones). I'm no dev, but it seems like it'd be easy enough to carry off -- especially if we only have 2-4 chances to flirt in dialogue per LI the way we did in DA:II (and probably in DA:O also, but the setup always made me feel like there were more)

Excellent idea, PsychoBlonde! Glad you brought it up. :)
