I really hated this.

Kai Leng: "You're still slow shepard!"

Shepard: "I'm only slow because I'm not running!"

Kai Leng: "Shut up!"

I laugh every time these lines are said during this encounter

It's even better when you're playing a vanguard and that line happens to trip mid-charge. Yep, breaking the sound barrier here, so ~slow.~ <_<

It's not exactly dialog...but an extension of a dialog choice...

...when Shepard dances with Jack in Purgatory.

I was completely shocked when it happened...because I never expected the dialog choice to turn into that.

It was so far out of my Shepards character to do that...I just couldn't believe what had actually happened.

That conversation must have caused me to black out because I don't remember it, but man, thats pretty damn ****ing bad. It's like watching two 8 year olds insulting each other, and there's like a 15 second pause between each insult because they're tyring their damned hardest to think of something to say.

... I still can't believe that was pitched as dialogue and made it in, excellent.

I'm a bit lucky. Shepard didn't say or do anything grossly out of character for me in ME3.

Anyone know what happens to Vido if you didn't kill him in ME2?

Well, in the leaked script he gets killed or apprehended by Reapers(can't recall which) while Zaeed looks on.

Well, that's convenient... <_<

I'd have had the Normandy shoot down his fleeing gunship on Zorya after saving the workers, had that been an option. Bit of a contrived situation, that.

All the same, the game does far too much to reward Paragons. Certain things like letting Vido and Balak go should have bitten you HARD in later titles. Letting Rana Thanoptis go makes her kill a few people (no hit to war assets), letting Balak go makes him crash a ship or two (no hit to war assets - you actually recruit him as one), and rewriting the Geth Heretics is a mistake (if peace is your goal) which can be easily overcome. Other than that, I don't think the game levies ANY negative consequences for applying naive idealism to any given situation.

It helps that none of the Paragon options are naive idealism; they're measured idealism. Although, for balance's sake, fewer Renegade options should have been brute stupidity.

Also, I actually liked "I'm only slow 'cause I'm not running!," though it requires the next line of Shepard taunting Leng for the full effect ("You ran on the Citadel, you ran on Thessia," etc).

Don't think this was out of place, but it was just bad dialogue. So who's with me on this one?

Liara: "By the goddess. Literally!"

I cringed when i heard that.

I didn't like it when, during the Mar's mission, Kaidan suggested using a transmitter in a Cerberus enemy's helmet and Shepard was like, "Why?" I thought that made Shepard seem like an idiot because she would have been able to figure that one out.

I didn't like Shepard's responses to the Turian Councilor when he was trying to inform you of ways to get around the council's sit-and-what policy. He tells you to see the Primarch and Shepard's response is either, 'So far you've only mentioned how I can help you" - more like her sounding like an idiot for not getting that doing just that would help her- and "I told ya this was going to happen, didn't I?"

Also, I didn't like (again on Mars) Liara commenting that the major has become quiet....capable, was it? Shepard agrees, plus gave him love-sick stares through the whole mission. My Shepard was in another relationship and shouldn't have wanted anything to do with Kaidan, especially since she told Joker and Kelly in 2 that "it was nice but we let it go."

Not necessarily dialogue, but mindset. Case in point, the kid. My Shepard was a colonist. If anything would be giving him nightmares, the kid would be right above the bottom. In addition to his family and friends being ruthlessly slaughtered and enslaved by batarian scum, what about Kaidan? I guess my Shepard just got over him. Jenkins? Eh, he was a redshirt from the beginning, I'll let it slide. And what about XO Pressly?

Shepard didn't even know that kid!

And yeah, there's certainly "I won't let fear compromise who I am," but that was uttered back in ME2, before the ending to ME3 was uncharacteristically mutilated.

still? after all this time still people can't see it? On one level seeing an innocent kid die is bad and effects shep but to shep what the kid really represents is those he wasn't able or won't be able to save. to shepard the kid in his dreams represents those killed by slavers, he represents kaiden, he represents jenkins and pressly, the kid is the representation his subconcious gives this regret.

That should not be Bioware's decision to make.

Shepard is supposed to be our character. They obviously need to have them behave in certain ways to push the plot forward (like wanting to fight the bad guys), but anything in regards to emotions, thoughts, feelings and state of mind should be left entirely to the player.

Or else they are not our characters at all.

Lucky indeed, because mine didn't stop.

I made a point of never dancing at all in Mass Effect, ever. It's just not something my Shepard would do.

Yet it seemed like every person I met told me that my character was bad at dancing.

For me it's not a specific line, but really just Shepard acting like kind of a crybaby about Earth when it gets hit by the Reapers. My Shepard would just keep pressing on as if nothing happened, but he keeps talking to everybody about how sad he is throughout almost the entire game.

Off the top of my head

- Apologizing to the Asari councellor.

- Alot of Kai Leng related stuff

- STEEEVE! - Out of character (for me),no to mention the way the dialogue makes him appear to be your best friend (even if you tell him to suck it up)

- Generally the neglect of you LI. For example
LI: *Pours heart out to Shepard*, Shepard: "Thanks" *pokerface*. Come on.. even I don't suck that bad at smalltalk.

- The way shep mopes about, and keeps bringing up how sad it is about earth.

- "The geth are better than this!".. really shep? Pretty sure you end up fighting them every damn step of the way... Bloody Geth

- HOOYAH!!

- Talking to Liara in the cabin post thessia, they way your forced to go on your own, should have the option to convince Garrus or/and Tali to come with.

- We fight or we die/this isn't about strategy or tactics.... that was a bit ****ty. especially for someone whos been under house arrest for a while. Not to mention a Commander...

- A lot of the catalyst talk... you just take it like a b!tch nodding all the way.. irks me

- over reaction to jokers joke.

- Wouldn't say it's out of place. But I was surpised to learn of Javiks intention of suicide.

Probably forgot to mention a few obvious ones. But hey.. gives you bunch a chance =P

Add Kai Leng to that list and it'll pretty much sum it all up.

Sure, Shepard's lines can be derpy at times, but these two characters' lines are just agonizing.

Thessia - sure. Shepard had nothing to do with the planet destruction. The only thing really happened was the loss of _potential_ Catalist, a totally unknown thing that could be a complicated device to build. And even for that Asari Matriarch was the one to blame. Yet, Shepard did not care about Earth as much (in dialogs) as about that planet.

But for me the first big "ouch" was the talk between Colonist-Ruthless Shepard and Kaidan in ME1 after Prologue, when Shepard was brought back on Normandy. The colonist biography includes this: "When you were sixteen, slavers raided Mindoir, slaughtering your family and friends." Logically later on Torfan you killed every batarian slaver on the base - avenged your family and friends. Yet, when Kaidan asks you "what made you choose military" your only options are:
1. My parents were farmers but I wanted more.
2. I wanted some adventures.
3. I have to go.

Nice work!

Liara (after Thessia): "How many lost their lives today because of me?"
Shepard: "None."

Me: *Facepalm*

Worst part is that this was a pt in which Shep had romanced Liara since ME1, and that's the best he could do and say in this situation? Ugh.

My serious lesbian femshep badass with no romantic or sexual feelings towards James whatsoever being forced to have a sexually charged flirtatious relationship with James anytime I just want to have a serious talk with him about the mission.

Shep: The bed's alot softer than it looks.

Shepard being pissed at Joker for telling his joke about asari dancers. I wish there were an option to like the joke. In fact, I hate how he's pissed at himself all the time after the Thessia mission, even though Shepard is not to blame. I've been warning the council for three games and the asari councilor only told me about the artifact after the Reapers started their attack on the planet.

Other than that, I very much disliked Shepard's religious statements. In ME1 you can role-play Shepard to be an atheist. When Mordin died in ME3 my Shepard said that "wherever he is, he's putting in a good word for us." In ME1 my Shepard mocked Ashley for saying something similar, namely that her father was still looking out for her. Shepard's reaction was "he's not a zombie, is he?" I can't believe the same guy would suddenly believe in the afterlife. I know this line is a dialog option, but the dialog wheel was not clear about this.

And another one I don't like is that the squad is shocked when they see banshees in the monastery even if they've already seen banshees before in their search of Leviathan, and they didn't even seem to care back then.

After sacrificing the council to defeat one reaper.
Straight up telling Harbinger we'll sacrifice half the galaxy if that's what it takes to beat them.
Shooting my good friends Mordin and Kaiden and driving Tali to suicide, all in the greater good of defeating the reapers.
Selling my soul out to anyone with a gun willing to point it at the Reapers.
Giving every inch of my Sheperd's soul on the road towards the finale.
After giving countless epic speeches about how the only way we even have a hope of a chance to win is for everyone in the fight to be willing to sacrifice themselves and all their loved ones in the cause of the greater good!
On the final stretch of the final lap...

...callin' in da Normandy tah pick up mah dang ol' hurt teammates! Pfft, sure that jeopradizes everything and could make all that horrific sacrifice for nothin, but as long as Javik and EDI get out safe, apparently it's worth it to my Shep!
