I can't seem to get the hell out of the Fade.  I've cleared the major areas but The Templars Nightmare won't clear even though I have cleaned out all darkspawn.  I have been everywhere in Templars and I don't see anything alive, besides it's not that big an area.  Nothing in the mouse holes left to fight there either.  I have only managed to speak one party member and that's Wynne, then she disappeared into the Fade again.  I suppose I can't get to the other party members until Templars Nightmare is finished but like I said I can't find a freakin' thing alive in there.  This sucks big time!!!

So far I have cmpleted Weisshaupt, Raw Fade, Burning Tower, Mage Asunder, Darkspawn Invasion and Wynne's Nightmare. Am I missing something somewhere?

Imo Fade is great, my favorite part of the game.

If you check the Fade portal really carefully you might find out what exactly are you missing. Oh and btw, read every dialog with NPCs, they give you clues and point you in right directions.

No sooner than I posted by sheer luck I found another area that has a room with fire at the door and another room that requires me to turn into a Golem to inside of. I think I may now be able to advance further into the Fade. Thanks for your reply my friend.

If you get stuck again, or aren't sure you got everything, I posted a guide to the Fade on this forum several days ago.

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/66/index/517400

I'm sure there are lots of other guides out there, too. :D Good luck.

I loved the fade. I found it totally intriguing and fun. The first time through, I was pretty darn worried about my companions, too. The only downside was the surprising degree to which I missed them while going it alone.

I didn't mind the area, but the blurry tunnel vision thing always gives me a migraine.

i have varying opinions:

1. rogue- it's ok, kind of tough.

2. mage -- i have been here two weeks, can you get me out now? lol

3. kick ass i love the fade!

So, i think it depends on your class. i adored it as my sword and boarder, despite the fact she has about the offense of a drunken gnat. Maybe i just knew the forms better, as she was the one i did last, but strategy/forms = success i think. I quit my first ps3 character during the fade because she ran out of potions ( errrr poultices) and i got ticky. It's so well done its like a nightmare when its new and you are green at it all. If you look at your enemies, and your available shifts... it becomes easier.

I think that section you have to go through a Spirit Door to advance.  Otherwise you circle around 2 different sections.  I was kinda stuck there for a bit and had to methodicly check every door, mouse hole, and portal and made sure I knew where it went.

I don't mind that section.  Although after doing it 4 times, it is getting kinda repetitive with all the back and forth.  There is a lot of backtrackign that seems to be unavoidable.

Personally my route is, Spirit form, Bruning Man, and then Golem.

The Fade is a nice break on solo runs because it's actually designed for doing alone.

I thought it was really cool the first time, but afterwards it tends to feel like a chore for me.

I enjoy it. :P I should start a "The Fade Rocks" thread just to see the flame it would engender. *snickers*

I loved the fade. The first time I went through, there was some wandering around, but I liked the change of pace--your character needs patience and "brains" (loosely defined), not just brawn.

classes didn't matter much to me on difficulty. Rogue was my hardest, but it was also my first.

I used different forms to match my enemies' weaknesses, which I loved--only time my fighter or rogue got to shapeshift, let alone hurl fireballs or do a crushing prison on someone.

It has become my least favorite part of the game actually, I avoid the mage tower as much as possible now a days because of it

The fade if nothing else made me really good at body pulling single mobs out of a larger crowd (to fireball them in the face >:D )

If anything I found the whole thing easier on my mage since I spent most time in spirit or fire form and thus better magic.

Here are my top 6 reasons to enjoy the Fade:
CUN+5
STR+4
DEX+4
WILL+4
MAG+2
CON+2
Apart from the above I cant wait to get out of that joint.no big thing as after you do the section a couple of times it can be done very quickly. For those on there first run I can only suggest that you use the map often.

ughh.. that place is a huge pain in the ass. It was fun when I finished it the first time, but Ive done it like 6 times and have memorized where to go but I still get confused. Sometimes the quest updating is really slow and I have to go back to where I killed a demon and wait for it to update.

The Fade takes way too long to complete. However, it was nice for my dwarf to be able to do magic for the first and only time in his life.

How exactly are dwarves able to enter the Fade? They're not supposed to have that connection.

I love the fade because of the (although not very high) puzzle factor. While all other areas in the game are straight forward, in the fade you have to come back to a certain area in order complete it. That was really fun, especially the first time.

Dwarves can't enter the Fade unaided, by any natural means. They can be forcefully transported there. Which is what happens at the Mage Circle. The demon casts a spell on your party and forces you into the Fade.

This is from DG himself, by the way.:wizard:

I still don't really get how it works, seeng as Dwarves don't dream, and essentially what the Sloth Demon does is forceably put you in a dream-state. Its not like it physically transports you to the Fade. But oh well, that makes some sense. About as much sense as you can in the setting.

I personally tihnk it'd be funny if as a dwarf character the Sloth demon tried it and you were like "um, no" and just decapitated it.

True, giving a dwarf the extra attribute points, you can get in the Fade, from the beginning and doing the fight in a way matching the dwarves' relation to magic - which means not going in the Fade - would have matched better.

I love the 'feel' of the fade areas. The quest was a lot of fun the first time.

On replay ... I still like the fade quest overall, but it's a bit annoying that you end up going to each major area 2-3 times, with the exception of the Darkspawn area. It is a chore to make sure that you get every single stat increase. If you don't worry about them then the whole thing goes a bit faster.

On my first time, I thought the fade was the coolest thing ever. But then, I love puzzles.

As for the difficulty with different classes, I think dwarf warrior definitely has it the worst. You can't use the lyrium, and if you don't have the spirit form you have no other way to heal quickly. I found my out of combat health regeneration was surprisingly slow (though this was before 1.02). Also, a certain ogre kicked my butt--not the boss, but the one by himself. I had to reload until I had a time when he didn't ram me 3x in a row.
