Wardens rode Griffins in during the first couple of Blights.

Blights... Blights happen when darkspawn find the old gods and wake them up.

Old Gods... The Wizards of the ancient Tevinter Imperium worhipped the old gods.

How do you think the Grey Wardens killed the first four Archdemons? I bet there was an epic flying griffin battle at the end of every blight. Wonder if they're claws can pierce dragon hide.

And they're extinct, unless you want the next age to be Griffon Age.

If Gryphon attacks first, both of them will kill each other together. If Dragon attack first, he will win.
