If the other players aren't willing to use a medigel or an ops pack, I won't use a rocket, especially if I don't need to. If you don't like watching others play then learn how not to die, or leave the game and try again... Otherwise be thankful there is someone there to carry you and earn the xp and credits the rest of the team wouldn't be able to earn on their own.

I have yet to run into players who refuse to use medigel.

ok so the issue is that the sole player trying to clutch a wave is not playing to your liking. Well, if he has 4 waves that he has to solo you expect him to use all his rockets just to speed things up for you guys that couldn't stay alive? Why didn't any of the players that got dropped use a rocket? What if rockets are needed for an objective later on? If I had to solo 4 waves and carry a team I wouldn't trust any of the players to stay alive long enough to help with an objective in a later wave, nor would I have any trust in them using a rocket if needed as they haven't demonstrated that they are willing or able to do so.

While a timer is not a totally bad suggestion in and of itself, in the scenario you have set out it only serves to add more pressure to a guy that is simply trying to succeed where the rest of the team have failed. If time is such an issue, then either leave, or just be happy someone is earning you credits and xp

Why do you assume that the dead didn't use their cobra or medigel at all? They can still die.

There are players of different skills. Some are good, some are bad. The experienced player should assist the less experienced so they can enjoy the game as well. My way of doing it is to watch their back. Sure they may think they did well because they didn't die, but I just picked the enemies off his back without him knowing. I get less XP by not rushing to the frontline? Sure, but at least I made the game more enjoyable for the others.

If you think "Hey noob, you die so sit and learn". I'm sorry, that won't make the game better for the less experienced.

Every once in a while, **** happens in my game with friends, and one of us is left to finish a wave. If this is taking a bit long and I'm not the one doing the work, you know what I do?
I alt tab. I know. It's insane the things you can do with a computer now. I go and browse forums, check twitter, hell, if it would take 15 minutes, I'd play a game of minesweeper if I feel like it. I'll hear it on voicechat when we're starting the next wave.
Oh the wonders of the world if you use a bit of common sense & logic.

+1... As the rest of the team keeps dying, maybe they need to learn how to, you know, not die. Games go even faster with 4 players using rockets and shooting the enemies!

So how come there's a guy soloing the wave ? Did the rest of the team die at least 5 times each already ?

Now that's wasting everyone's time

We can't control who dies or not. Sometimes they die because they tried to finish the objective before the time runs out. And I believe a lot of players still carry only 3 medigels with them

I'm sorry, grown ups have less time to play because they have work and family to attend to. They can't spend much time to play games, and when they do, they try to enjoy every seconds.

That's a stereotype that isn't even true, and in cases where it DOES apply; play a different, less time consuming game. I thought you were a grown-up? Yet you don't know what games will waste more of your time? Sheesh...

Sure if you have a PC version, but that's not always the case.

So you think the busy grown-ups shouldn't play ME3 multiplayer although they like it? Discrimination won't help anyone here.

Yup, and when you're back, you found that the next wave has started, and you got killed when you're away.

In order to avoid that, you have to sit in front of the TV/monitor just in case the wave can end anytime soon.

If there'a time limit, then sure I can come back within 5 minutes. But no, I have to guess whether if takes 5 or 15 minutes to end

that's stupid. The others should have used medigel then, if you let yourself bleed out, or don't use medigel when you see you're going to be executed you leave the wave on the rest hands, if only one survives it's up to him to decide what to do. And if that guy has to do it three times in a row either he really is stubborn or just wants to complete another objective wave.

I've been the lone survivor sometimes, and when it happened twice or so in a row I just let myself get killed. I'm not doing all the work and wasting my suppplies in that case, for that I'd rather solo directly.

If it happens that you get killed so many times you should consider lowering the difficulty or rethinking your playstyle, because it happens once in a while to anyone, but if you constantly are in the position that you have to watch the other team finish the wave then it's your fault.

All in all, why should he, who has worked his way to staying alive and finishing the whole teams work, use rockets and not the other team members use medigel?

As someone who has both been the last man standing AND watching the last man/woman standing I have no problem with having no time limit.

If your last man standing your already under a lot of pressure with everyone watching you and knowing that one mistake could end the match. So a timer would add pressure and make you cause more mistakes.:crying:

And if your watching someone else, watch how they play and learn from it maybe?

Have you ever played Counter Strike in hostage rescue mode or bomb planting/defusing? They have a time limit too.

But I have never heard anyone complaining about it.

What if the idiot clutching the wave while you're watching is a "busy grown-up" tired of wasting his time carrying a bunch of Richard Jenkins ?

Why would you want to punish the one guy who didn't mess up as bad as the WHOLE TEAM, and is currently fighting for your lives.  What about a system that auto-kicks players who bleed out / get executed three rounds in a row?

Selecting between the auto-kick and spectating for a long time? I would pick auto-kick.

It's a game, and you force everyone to wait while you enjoy showing off your skills? I have a better idea, why don't you play solo instead?

Do you realize how jealous you actually sound? You really think they just want to show off and that's it? Maybe that's how you feel when you're the Lone Survivor but you shouldn't generalize every single one. This topic seems to have been spawned by jealousy rather than principally annoyance.

That said; you died, deal with it. You have no right to complain and should be grateful if the guy pulls it off, if he doesn't then you can possibly complain, provided they didn't use their consumables. Why on earth do I want to use my consumables when I can take something down how I like to. It's freedom. They are 'rewarded' that freedom when they're alone, they're allowed to do it however they like. Granted, when I'm alone and notice something is taking too long I rocket, but sometimes I don't because I just do not want to or the people kept bleeding out so I feel it's time for them to sit in time-out.

Why on earth should the sole survivor be given even more pressure just because everyone died and you want him to hurry up? To be frank, to turn it back on you and away from the survivor, that's ultimately selfish. Especially if said survivor kept reviving and trying to revive fallen teammates.

P.S. Counter Strike is CS, this isn't CS. It's completely different and shouldn't be compared.

You're not the first one to assume the others refuse to use their medigel. In my observation, most players refuse to use cobra instead while medigels were being used all the time.

My playstyle can mostly affect myself, which I don't die that often. But when the others died and you loss any tactical advantages, the game can become more difficult in several folds. It's something that you can't control.

And I appreciate how you decide to let yourself kill in those situations instead of wasting 15 minutes of everyone's time.

So we should punish the one that survived and reward the ones that die.
Pretty sure that happens at the end with shared XP and credits.

Dying alot? Change playstyle, use mic, follow others, watch videos, read forums, etc.

You have time to play but not for too long? You know because you have a job/wife/kids/etc
Then set aside time to play and enjoy that time even if you have to quit because someone is "taking too long" to win the match for you

I could go on...

Oh, so it's my jealousy and fault when the other 2 players also ask edthe guy to finish the wave faster, but he just runs around with a weak weapon against 2 or 3 bosses.

If the sole survivor isn't quick enough for you why not just exit the game. You wont be missed and may even be replaced by a more useful player.

Either "punish" the sole survivor by wasting their refillable consumable or "punish" the other 3 players by wasiting their unrecoverable time.

I believe no player would like to watch the sole survivor dance around with a gun for 15 mins and refuse to use cobra against several bosses when everyone is dead in a wave.  And when this happens for 4 waves, that's one hour completely wasted

Adding a limit of 5 min is good enough (extra 5 min if there are objectives to complete).

Of course, this shouldn't apply to the survivor who doesn't have hydras anymore.

Not sure if troll, or just stupid...:bandit:

yeah, what I didn't mention is that as soon as I die and we go to the lobby I quit the team. It's not about not wasting everyone's time, is about not wasting mine carrying a team.

Also think about this, the lone survivor is also wasting his time. He could be playing with a good team, having fun and completing the match quickly, instead he's doing the whole team's work. And if it's the case of a gold or platinum I can understand people dying, what I don't understand is people complaining about one person carrying them, they should be grateful.

Yes, everything in this topic boils down to you being a jealous jerk.
Maybe the last guy standing doesn't have any rockets, or is playing a support class? Maybe he didn't bring the most powerful weapons because he expect his teammates to actually be good at the game and not die instantly and whine like children? Image IPB

I can see a lot of players talk about "skills, playstyle" instead of "teamwork". Seems that I had overrated the importance of teamwork in this game.
