Things like horses and them pulling carts and such add that special touch to a game but i really don't expect to see any in the game. They got deadlines to catch and probably want to work with more essential stuff.

 the blight in fereldan probably didn't help much either, probably killed what few horses there were.  That said, My horse is only rarely used in skyrim, and thats only If I haven't been to a place yet and I have a long run.

If they do travel like they did in DA:O, maybe they could have a little window in the corner of the map that shows you and your companions riding horses or a carriage and then when you're in camp you actually see those horses and carriage. You never get to actually manually ride and control them in the game, but they still show up in the world.

If we do wind up going to Orlais, there will have to be some frenzied retconning if horses aren't in the game. The premier Orlesian fighter is a chevalier and they ride horses.

Perhaps they rode hobby horses.

They really should. DA2 felt empty in many ways and the lack of fauna certainly didn't help the situation. It adds hugely to the atmosphere to have animals around.

I doubt we'll have horses to ride because of the party-based system makes it too tricky. However, as someone mentioned, it will be downright silly to have chevaliers without steeds. They aren't called infantry.

Somehow I see chevaliers as god bosses with their horse charging and having the same effect as an ogre charge...

Anywho, if it's not a mount i have to go with biowares stance of "better things to do with our time" of course way of the samurai 4 has a $5 budget yet still has realistricly rendered horses just to hang out in the background or the one talking horse who is the reincarnation of your character every time you're killed by a real life person's intrudiing character and sets up a revenge match for you, buuuuuuuuuuut y'know, whatevers
