People don't like being tricked

No they don't and I know I don't either, but if I ever advise someone against remaining angry it's only because I know will just leave them unhappy.  Not that I am suggesting that they should suddenly be okay with what bioware has done, I'm not, or that they should allow bioware to forget what's happend, I don't plan to.  I know that this sounds preachy, but for whatever it's worth thats not my intention.

your right it is preachy, but no where near as preachy as many bioware defenders I have had to listen to

All I can say is bioware really got what was coming to them in a weird way

The sad part is you are right.

I just don't know if it is all wholly justified, which is my problem with the community and this whole "with us or against us" mentality that permeates a lot of what I see.

Well I'd be a liar if I said the outrage was unjustified and an even bigger one if I said that I myself wasn't angry and bitter for a long while.

No, Thank you Casey. You changed my life for the better. The ME universe is forever and permanently a part of me. Just thank you so freaking much. You gave me mShenko! :D

Just one question though. WHY the need to kill our/your hero, Shepard?! ;( ;( ;(

And just quickly saying, as a gay innocent: You're kinda cute. There, I said it. What's the chances he'll read this anyway. I'm good, right?:innocent:

You're good. He doesn't show up around here anymore.

I'd like to thank him personally for his part in giving us a great trilogy, even if it did sort of fall over itself in the end.

One thing that I would definitely advise looking into for future games, though, is improving the writing department; the quality of writing from Bioware's latest games has been awfully inconsistent with its reputation.

Thanks for the IP, Casey, and all the hard work. There are missteps and problems in every creative franchise; what matters is being great in spite of them, and Mass Effect was ultimately very worthwhile.

I thank casey hudson as well, even if the ending did make a lot of people want to <mod edit: removed violent language>.

Thank you Casey Hudson and everyone else on Bioware's Mass Effect team for creating what is arguably my favorite franchise of all time and I can't wait to see what you guys have in store for the future.

I'm glad he posted this letter and I am extremely grateful for the Mass Effect story, hands down my favorite game series of all time.

The passion he has for this series is evident. It's my hope that he takes that passion and combines it with the experience he's gained and fan feedback to make more story heavy games that enrapture us.

But no prequels, please.

I’ll thank Casey not to ****** away the good work of others on some self-indulgent circle jerk in the unhappy event he’s in charge of putting together the next Mass Effect game.

I have to thank Casey for creating Mass Effect, but I cannot thank him for destroying it. And I'm with anillee, prequels will only bring back negative memories.

Casey seems like a really nice guy. He shouldn't be thanking us, we should be thanking him. Regardless of how you feel about ME3, he gave us one of the greatest sci-fi trilogies of all time. I have spent literally hundreds of hours playing these three games and I don't regret a second of it.

Yes, thank you for creating one of the greatest sci-fi series in recent memory, only to then ruin it during the last ten minutes and subsequently insulting my intelligence with your "art" excuse.

What, you wanted honesty, yes? :P

Sure he's a nice guy. I'm 100% sure even Super MAC would be an awesome friend to have. That said, being a nice guy and being a competent executive producer/lead writer are two different things.

Sadly yes. Stanley Kubrick was an ****, as was albert einstien, but both were great in their respective feilds.

But still, he did help created mass effect 1, 2, and 3. And it was under his leadership that the PS3 people will finally get to play Me1, which is something that many, many, fans would love to do.

So yeah, thanks for doing some good work with what you had, and hope you don't get beaten up too badly.

No one in their right mind would argue that either Casey or Super MAC are Satan incarnate. But no one in their right mind would argue that they didn't cause some serious damage to their franchise.

Think of it like building a house. ME1 is the concrete foundation. Everything looks fine. ME2 is the skeleton. It's a little shaky, but it doesn't look like it's going to fall anytime soon. ME3 is the rest of the house. Rushed, shoddy work causes the roof to cave in, making the entire house unlivable. I'm sure Casey and Super MAC thought they could build this house all on their own, but in the end, you should let professionals do what they are professional at.

What's going on with all the Hudson praise here?

We have absolutely no idea if the game is awesome because of his contribution or despite of it!!
We don't know him and how he shaped the game.

The only thing what we really know is what he publicly says. And that is rather often deflective, misleading exageration or even lying.

Why are you jumping to these positive conclusions here?

I'm not saying we should jump to a negative conclusion either, but people, stop being so naive, please.

The guy was part of the trilogy so even if we are not happy with all the three games we still like to say thank you for the experience.

We are not naive, we know about life and we also know it’s impossible to please all people all the time.
