Despite the horrific ending Casey and Mac came up with, the rest of the trilogy is absolutely amazing. So, best of luck with his next project. And thanks BW for the trilogy.

This whole thanking each other after a monetary transaction is a little weird

No, it is not. If people didn't do that, society would be a pretty awful place. I'm sure some people would like it to be that way, but most normal thank the people they buy things from, and most sellers do the same. Not thanking each other is abnormal.

In order to have a track record of fail you'd have to make more than one bad game in a series.

Incorrect. Ever heard of "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me"?.

I think you'll find that the saying is actually something like 'Fool me once; shame on you. Fool me twice; careful, I'm huge!'

Irregardless, I'd like to add my thanks to Casey and the Bioware team for a truly excellent trilogy.

Marketing aside, I don't blame Casey for disappearing, I think the majority of us would have done the same thing.

The guy is supremely talented and a class act. Hate all you want, but this universe exists because of him, and for that I am appreciative.

It exists because of many.

It fell because of few.

It died because of one.

Super MAC...

Ok, I'm actually curious about this: on what do you base this verdict? Did you actually see him doing his work as a producer? Do know people who work with him personally?
Do you know who created the ME universe? I mean it obviously evolved from the old republic with biotics instead of force etc. But I think it's really hard to tell who contributed what from "our" perspective.
So, please share some info!! :o

And George lucas based Star Wars off mythology and jiadeki movies.

Who cares who created what? Did you enjoy the series?

I accept the olive branch. Besides, I love a good ComeBack story.

It is my hope that after we have All gone thru hell the past months, we can dust ourselves off and ComeBack stronger than we ever were before. That ME4 will be better than any of the previous ones precisely because of this hell we've been thru.

Highs and lows, that the way it goes.

At the end of the day, BW is still my fav game dev., or I wouldn't be here...

You gotta admit, it's funny.  At least Mac was wearing some knee pads when those arrows hit.

Shortly after beating ME3 on the 360 and concluding my shepard's story, I immediately launched myself into ME1 on the PC. I picked up all 3 games (and dlc) on the PC to play mp with my friend.

I thoroughly enjoy the series, but I'm constantly drawn back to ME1. Every time I start up that game and I hear the audio, it just pulls me back to a place where I feel like anything is possible. The ME universe lays there open for exploration. I'm truly grateful and thankful for such a trilogy.

So I do thank Mr. Hudson. I've seen his interviews and he looks like a down to earth nice person. But, gotta remember that he's probably coached and everything they cover in those interviews/diaries is detailed and thought out. But the product they delivered, is undeniably amazing (from my perspective).

Awesome. Can't wait for the future.

I certainly thank him and the rest of the Mass Effect team for creating such a vibrant universe that I've been able to experience.

However I also feel regret that those same people managed to produce such a lacklustre third game (I think the whole third game suffered from a "that'll do" mentality that made it bad, it wasn't just the ending.)

That is a damn nice view he's got out of his office window. A picturesque winter village? I don't buy it.

this is not simply thanking someone for buying stuff, there are post here about people who feel that there lives have been changed as a result of the transaction.

it does not matter

Incorrect. Ever heard of "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me"?. I sure as hell am not going to pre-order any more games given that much of the pre-release information about ME3 turned out to be untrue. I would not have bought the game if I had know this.

The problem is not that he made one bad game, but that he has evidently decided that it's now OK to lie to fans to inflate sales. I won't thank him for the ME series until such a time that I get a refund for ME3 (i.e. never).

On an unrelated note, yay, another idiot who has to put a "valid HTML/CSS" footer on a page that is neither valid HTML nor CSS. Seriously, how difficult is it too not put that on your website if you know that you can't write valid HTML?

You speak as if you were tricked in some way. They thought the ending they made was fine, and it wasn't, now we can move on. I can only speak for myself, but I know that there wasn't much anyone could have told me that would have stopped me from buying ME3. Not to mention they did right by the multiplayer.

I would rather be in a world with a Mass Effect with a terrible ending, than be in world with no Mass Effect at all. I also won't rob myself of a good experience because I assume they don't learn from mistakes or in this case, fan back-lash. Will I buy their next game (DA3) sight unseen? Most likely, but I usually find something to like in all Bioware games.

Broken promises regarding ME3 ending: Thread #1, Thread #2, Thread #3, Thread #4

You can't honestly say there was nothing wrong with this game.
Especially considering how they used to say, "this is the end of a trilogy, so we're allowed to make as many endings as we want, to represent the complicated and tough choices you've made as your Shepard" what did we get? We get incinerated by a beam or blow up the universe. That's not a real choice, and it's especially not "diverse". Remember, before the EC, there was only one ending in three colors.
