I would say yes. It's just how Shep reacts to her LI or not I think if she's an ex she does say, " I always loved you." Shep looks confused and so am I as the player considering she shows you nothing. To me it more resembles her DNA mining you because its whiteout. Either way if she's an ex or friend she's holding your hand and resting her head on your shoulder that is too intamate for friends and of course if your her LI she's kissing you which is fine.

As the player it's not really something am happy about though I would understand why she would undergo that option because she's litterly the only one in the group who could w/o making it blatantly obvious their going for the gold there with or without shep's consent. That doesn't make what Liara did right though if she indeed ninja'd him/her and if my shep survived he/she would be upset by Liara's second betrayal.

Either way BW isn't going to cover this in the next ME4 unless your lead character is Asari and you get no other species lead options then they should say this is the illegitimate daughter of shep if shep was not an LI to or shep was an ex towards Liara. If Liara however was an import LI then she would be a legitimate daughter of shep.

She'll tell you what she's going to do, if you ask. Share memories.

So if she was actually getting herself pregnant then the question becomes, "do you think she's a rapist?" Sane people will answer no to that.

See she could be lying to you she did lie about Cerberus there. She's also changed to the ends justify the means remember she thretened that guy and was blood thursty towards the SB? She clearly can do whatever she wants so long as she can say it was for a better cause in the end. She also shares nothing with you and afterwards she'll say, " I always loved you," though because I had different sheps I can't rember was it the ex shepard or the non LI shepard whom she'll say that to.

I'm pulling a blank here. What was the first betrayal?

actually OP, She apparently gave Shep a 'dose' of the Asari version of the here after. In that, "the gift" was an insurance policy that permits Sheps return, as Liara took a snapshot of Sheps enity.  Liara isn't pregnant.. per se, only endowed with Sheps DNA records, like Javik with his meme stick..  Liara can now reproduce Shepard anytime, if she survives.
If you've ever read any ann mccaffrey, the Dragons can go 'in between', the Asari apparently do so as well, taken from that scene, the images were of that space between now and then, without describing either.(technically folding spacetime, etc.)

This is kind of what I said.

No.

It isn't anything more than how it is described. It is just an intimate way for the Asari to say farewell to people whom they are very close to. Depending on whether or not your Shepard was in a romance with Liara, you'll either get the friend or lover version. In either case however, it isn't sexual and no babies were made. Posted Image

Of course if you *want* Liara to be pregnant, you are free to head canon whatever you like. But that wasn't the writers intent with that scene.

Hello everyone!

I don't know whether anyone has thought about it yet, but if your Shepard romanced Liara, she says this to you when you say goodbyes to your friends - well, as I recall it:

'This is it, isn't it? ... I don't know what to say. The blue children will be disappointed that I didn't have any speech' said Liara, facing the dying soldier, looking at Shepard from the corner of her eye.
'We'll make it up for them' said Shepard, stepping a little closer to the asari.

So Liara definitely told her about the "blue children". And they had plenty of oportunities to bond, for example during their making love before the siege of the Kronos station, or, yes, Liara's final gift to her may have been bonding too. I read somewhere that Asari bonding does not necessarily take much time.

Personally, I love this idea because my Shepard chose Control, for the diversity of organic and synthetic life she sacrificed her own. And the idea that she had children... well, it makes me easier to deal with the heartbreaking.

But if your Shepard was male then Ashley could possibly be the mother of his children too.

I think they *can* get pregnant during their maiden stage, as pre-civilization times might not have given them the safety needed to wait to 350-400 before raising children. But It is in the middle of a war, which aftermath might not be an enviroment to raise a child. Asari are considerate about the long-term and won't inpregnate themselves on a spilt second decision like that. Also, the compulsion to settle down comes during their matron stage, which is 350-700. A matron younger than 200 is probably unheard of.

Liara being pregnant will only matter in ME4, as the children of the Galaxy's greatest heroes must battle the arrogant influence of the Leviathans as they attempt to reassert their claim as the apex race and enthrall the Galaxy riled up by an evil mastermind you pursue across the next three games.

As you do, you'll get to battle through ruins of a Brazillian bodega, have a highspeed chase across hanar oceans, go undercover as a batarian terrorist and shoot your way through a spaceport, assault a bunker to stop a doomsday weapon - which tragically will go off and destroy a city as you attempt to escape in a shuttle, assault an ancient turian castle in a armed Kodiak and finally battle through the Hotel Azure in a desperate attempt to kill the mastermind (sadly losing your comrades as you go) that ignited a new Galactic war.

After all that, you will deserve to be called "Commander Shepard's Daughter".  Achievement Unlocked.

Man, this stuff just writes itself.
