I think you're under a lot of illusions of what exactly aim autoassist does. When it actually snaps to the right target as opposed to a random damned swarmer or something near your actual target, it snaps to the center of mass, so you have to correct again if you want a headshot. Essentially, aim autoassist makes it much harder to get headshots.

When we toggle our close aim, we don't get any assistance with aiming. There's no snapping to the nearest target, there's just free mouse control.

The point I was trying to make is that its pointless to talk about consoles being harder when the controls are less proficient and there are mechanics designed to compensate for this. If someone wants to prove their worth, surely they would be prepared to challenge someone whilst using the most responsive controlls and with the least external assistance.

I am not saying one or the other is more difficult, its simply ridiculous to diminish someone's accomplishment on the basis of the fact that they were good enough to do it with a mouse and keyboard. A lot of xbox'ers have this idea that you automatically become amazing at the game, just because you have a mouse and keyboard, when that is simply not the case. It still takes a lot of skill, and a lot of practice to be like Jay.

I'm not trying to diminish Jay... but it's not as hard as you're making it out to be.

Simply aim the hipfire reticle at/near the head, zoom, correct, fire. It is actually easier to get headshots this way... it takes less effort because you don't have to aim twice. It's all a much smaller correction once zoomed since you didn't get auto aimed at the chest... this is what Zero was talking about. No one is saying Jay sucks and isn't a great shot... it's just not the amazing accomplishment you seem to think it is. It's been that way for like... 15 years on PC.

Where console aim assist becomes more awesome is quick scoping into OSK body shots. This is why I love Phasic Rounds so much... I don't have to try anymore. Zoom, shoot, something always dies... yesterday there was a brute in my face in a hack circle. It took up such a huge part of my screen there was no way I could miss. I quick scoped and fire... +924 points... Brute is still in my face charging me... WTF? I look at the kill feed... I killed a Hunter, that was outside the room, down a set of stairs and WAY WAY to my right.  LOL aim assist....

And to add another thing..."autoassist" only applies when you are already NEAR a target. you can't just aim off into space, zoom, pull the trigger and hit something.

All the auto assist does is make you hit the body instead of the arm. That. Is. It.
If you aim to the head, zoom, pull trigger...you get a body shot.


OT: When I first heard of Jay's marksmanship...I thought he was cheating...then I watched videos, and etc etc...
He is a living Aimbot...but he's not cheating.
And I would wager that he IS the Best PC player in ME3 MP.

Why do you get butt hurt when someone says it's easier to get headshots on PC? You have pinpoint accurate/vastly more responsive controls and don't have stupid auto aim screwing things up... you have all the advantages, this all feeds into your PC master race gimmick that you spew forth daily.

There's nothing wrong with that... you guys go ahead and headshot everything, have fun. I'm going to bodyshot everything that isn't a Phantom... and we both win.

I already told you guys why I won't play the game on PC... WASD controls. I play Starcraft 2 on my PC and love it...

WASD games don't interest me for this reason... my hands look like they've been through a meat grinder. I barely have any feelings in my fingertips from being a cook who sticks his hands in the oven/stove/grill/whatever, and then being a commercial spearfisherman. Grabbing 4-12lb spiney lobsters and ripping their heads off underwater and ramming my hands in razor sharp grouper gills, grinding little fish on rod/reel/bandit... it all wrecks your hands. I literally get lost sliding my fingers across the keyboard... I can type by hen-pecking at a super fast rate (been doing it all my life). I play every game with my kid (often buying 2 copies for ecks bawks)... but I can't play those games with him (he loves TF2). It is what it is...

The other day when Sirian and I were talking about it I gave serious consideration to buying this for PC...

Former console scrub here. w2p? I don't really think this game is that much harder on pc.

If possible, can Jay record his next match from his POV.

If its not possible to record via fraps maybe he could setup a vid from his mobile.

Also next challenge suggestion :

Jay as a Geth engineer FBWhite Hazard with Hunter mode on outside.

Others :

1 player with scorpion and shockwave

2nd with cluster grenades

3rd with flamer.

cant think of a suitable weapon choice since Jay seems to be a master of all weapons

This is the only thing that i think remotely has a chance to stop Jay from getting 20 headshots in 2 waves.

Ah well, he will probably get it in three waves anyway.

Jay already hates that map and its standard screenshake. Imagine what it would be like with 3 Drell tossing out Cluster Nades nonstop.
