I like this. I hated her. Didn't like her at all and I'm still not sure why. Played MOTA so many times in different acts and characters and still can't understand why I despise her so much. BUT! If we have a choice to recruit her or not is something I'm cool with. If she appears DA3.

The cast of characters is already decided, so it's probably too late to make requests, but if it were not too late, I would say "No, thanks." The plot of MotA was actually pretty good, but it was completely overshadowed by Tallis screaming "Look at me!" every 3 seconds. Other companions were pushed forcibly out of the limelight so she could have all the punchlines. She tried (maybe too hard), but she never actually managed to sound like she wasn't acting. Her religious crisis could have been a turning point for the character, but it came across as "Look at me! I'm complex! I have issues!"

Tallis is not the first character to be modeled after the voice actor, so I don't know why she bothers me when other characters modeled after their voice actors do not (I've never played ME, so the whole Diana Allers thing is lost on me, but I do know that Flemmeth looks a lot like Kate Mulgrew... but then Kate Mulgrew doesn't write fanfic). Maybe it's because the game wasn't marketed as "Gideon Emery is Fenris!!!1!" When a DLC is marketed that way, it makes it harder to believe that Tallis is anything other than a souped-up self-insert. Yes, I know that Felicia Day did not write MotA. It doesn't help.

That said, I won't refuse to buy the game if she is in it. I might not recruit her, and if I did, I would probably never bring her on missions, but there are always one or two characters I don't like. And who knows? With enough TLC (taking away 99% of her speshul, for a start), she might be salvageable.

Why do people hate the Templars but love her?

She is worse then any Templar other then maybe that one crazy rapest/**** Traquial Solution guy.

I found her annoying and over hyped. Her intro went for waaay to long, my main thought after the first couple of her kills was, can I have a go now. But what really turned me off her was that I couldn't kill her and even if I ditched her she showed up at the end any way. " I DON"T LIKE YOU LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" 

Seriously I would rather have had the Chasind bodygaurd then her.

If they do include her and force is to take her maybe I can actually debate her assertion of how awesome the Qun is for everyone and actually make arguments against it, particularly for mages.

The fail writing at the end where she punks Hawke wasn't really a her characters fault, I guess it would have been too hard for her to have to dash away in a cloud of smoke.

The whole DLC was way too much, it was constantly, look at how awesome Tallis is, we even started the DLC with her jumping around and slaughtering people while you watch like an idiot, then continue to shove her in the limelight non stop for the entirety of the thing.

well...i liked this character, i really did...till she told me "by the way I am a quunari radical and I am part of their secret police to spy on people (foreign and domestic people at that) and to keep them brainwashed!"...then i wanted to send her to a mental doctor (hell she obviously is intelligent, she has compasion (does not want to kill if it is not necessary) but she still is member of a faith that i would never enter and i can't support...and i believe she only is quunari because she suffered at the hands of non-quunari people (humans mostly)...kind of a revenge thing, even if she can either not admit that (not even to herself) or she does not know (we today have doctors for this, to help us with things we can not admit or do not believe to be true about ourselfs!)...so, if she is brought back in, i would want her to show some doubt about the quun (because that faith is worse to me then say radical islam or radical jewism...and i can not tolerate those either, mostly because of their treatment of other people (women for example!) etc.) and being reasonable!
