I hope our DA3 character has an Orlessian accent, it would be most fitting seeing as Orlais is going to be the setting of DA3, which I'm glad because I've been to France and would like to Bioware's depiction of France.

Accent-neutral as always.

Helps bond with the PC.

Oh hell no not Orlesian, I plan on playing as a guy, and French is the most feminine language out there, there's nothing sexier on a girl than a French accent, but for men, I just laugh.

Honestly, I seriously hope the protagonist doesn't have much of an accent at all, especially Orlesian. Its already hard enough to try to bond to a character that contradicts what you are trying to be, without that character sounding really badly as well.

As neutral accent as possible really, a strong accent can be an obstacle to bond with the PC

Orlesian, definitely, but not faux-French. There are some great French speaking voice actors out there, too. (or certainly French speaking actors that have done voice acting in the past)

I definitely don't want Fereldan (British) accents again, when I have the chance to play Orlesian. Let's see the world and play characters from all over Thedas that have the correct accents, as the series moves forward.

The accent of people who live in the place that the bulk of the game is set. I'm not super keen on playing outsiders.

And if it's an English accent, one which is appropriate to the social class of the character.

Ugh, that is the one of the stupidest things I've ever seen anyone post on here.
OT: I'm fine with the character having a british accent but they don't have to be Ferelden, Isabela and Duncan had British accents and they're from Rivaini

I kinda want a Fereldan again, I like the idea of this completely unremarkable nation and it's people giving rise to heroes and legends like they're a cure for the plague. If we do get an Orlesian accent though that'll be the fastest trade in my game store has ever seen. We all have our little things that drive us batty and one of mine is French accents, I don't know why.

It doesn't matter as long as it is well acted.

I liked Robert De Sable's accent in AC1. That was pretty strong though, I'm not sure something like that would go down too well.

Something that doesnt prevent immersion. Preferably quite neutral. If I constantly think that I sound extremely annoying it kinda gets in the way of roleplaying.

I love how almost everyone hates the Orlesian accent. I don't, but I wonder if for some it will make or break the game, full stop -- assuming the protagonist is Orlesian at all. I mean, if even before hearing the voice actors, would anyone refuse to purchase the game if it was known beforehand that the protagonist would have an Orlesian accent? Obviously, no one wants an annoying accent, but what about French/Orlesian makes it automatically awful?

An outrageous French accent, of course.

To be fair I'd find an orlesian or antivan accent pretty refreshing xD I wouldn't have a problem with it at all. Don't see why it is for so many - as long as it's well played by the VA.

Hey, there was only one character who sounded like that and you could kill him if you liked. :P

I want him to have a bad German accent, like in Die Hard.

I'm sorry, I thought you said antagonist.

I want them to have whatever accent the nation they're from has. I'm personally hoping for Orlesian, something like Leliana or Aveline de Grandpre from Assassin's Creed Liberation for the FemC, or something like Riordan for the MC. If the accent isn't Orlesian, I hope that they character also isn't, but I'm also hoping they're not Ferelden -- it's gotten old.

I don't care as long as it matches whatever my protag's built-in background is. (Wouldn't make sense if I'm from Antiva and I have a British or American accent...)

People who flip out over Orlesian accents... see signature...

Because in their minds they think it's going to sound like Pepe Le Pew.

Leliana's accent was fine - I barely noticed it, but noticed it just enough to know she was Orlesian.
