An outrageous French accent, of course.

Hey, there was only one character who sounded like that and you could kill him if you liked. :P

I was afraid that if I tried he'd signal his friends to lob a cow at my head. :(

It's also extremely xenophobic :| As someone from a predominantly Acadian area where over 50% of the population is French and speaks with French accents, the whole attitude makes me incredibly uncomfortable :|

I don't care as long as it matches whatever my protag's built-in background is. (Wouldn't make sense if I'm from Antiva and I have a British or American accent...)

To be fair I'd find an orlesian or antivan accent pretty refreshing xD I wouldn't have a problem with it at all. Don't see why it is for so many - as long as it's well played by the VA.

Because in their minds they think it's going to sound like Pepe Le Pew.

Leliana's accent was fine - I barely noticed it, but noticed it just enough to know she was Orlesian.

I see that signature. To you I say, bah! Video games are the most important thing ever in the history of ever!

You're right, though. We've seen good accents, like with Leliana or even Marjolaine, and no one flips out when one of the English accents are poorly done.

the DA world equivalent to a Scottish accent, though I'm guessing they're going with French (Orlesian) which I'm fine with as well.

The strongest, thickest, most robust Scottish accent BioWare can find. I'd love to see the BSN plead for a French accent then.

I'm fine with an Orlesian accent. In fact, I very much hope it *is* Orlesian. I'm tired of playing as a Fereldan. And yes, there is a lot of xenophobia in this thread. Get over it, people.

Gimme authentic Orlesian accents! Americans and they're French hating ways, can suck it!

I don't wanna be another bloody Fereldan again! If I can't have authenticity, I don't want DA3! *has a cry* :crying:

Neutral; Like New Zealand or something- they speak the 'cleanest' form of English. If it has to be Orlesian, than subtle. Leliana just bothered me because of her voice, not the accent. It's like she...I dunno, slurred her words a tiny bit?

Ugh my Lady Hawke sounded like an upper-class snob all the time.

Orlesian accent, make it extra heavy too, to infuriate the haters.

It all depends on where the protagonist is from, which I hope will be Fereldan.

LOL at everyone who asks for a "neutral accent". There's no such thing. I mainly just want the accent to fit the character's origin, but I certainly wouldn't complain about an Orlesian accent.

Whatever Tim Curry decides on doing for the day. Vague eastern European most likely.
