When judging the difficult parts of the game people tend to focus on those 2 areas for being tough and I know why. It's cause the games mechanics benefit a MP type setting of being in a boxed in area and not really that hard when the battles are A-B areas like hallways or narrow rooms where you can't get surrounded.
If Omega has these areas more like defending different locations instead of moving from room to room it'd give the game a little more challenge then just kill these guys move on, kill these guys etc...
I'm also not a fan of stat increase for difficulty. Yes giving that Banshee more protection takes her more shots to kill but it doesn't change the strategy on how to kill her just gives you less room for error with more than 1 enemy. Throwing in extra enemies or having different access points for how the enemy enters a area would make things a lot better.
Omega needs areas like Grissom and Missile area. (Slight spoilers)

Was trying not to spoil too much but the area at the end where you activate the missiles. With the Harvester, Banshees, and Reaper all coming at you.

No, that was just bad gameplay.
Not challenging but cheap once you found out how it works.
This last mission is part of the s**tstorm about the ending being rushed, dull and not satisfying

Man, I hated the Earth missions. It was just a basically endless wave of mini-bosses that featured waay too many Banshees. Grissom wasn't that bad, but I didn't find it hard at all with an appropriately upgraded Sabotage skill. The map almost plays itself if you can AI Hack turrets and mechs.
