Hi, I am playing BG1 and want to carry my character (thief/illusionist gnome) over to BG2. I am aware that there are tomes in the game increasing stats. My questions is - is there any use in increasing
STR 14>15
CON 16>17
WIS 11>12>13>14

I read somwehere that there is no point to go with INT 19>20, but that does increase chance of learning spells and lore skill, right?

Here are my thoughts:
1. STR 14>15: slim point (with Lum machine bonus >16 = +1 Damage, +30 carry weight)
2. CON 16>17: again no immediate profit but with Lum's bonus >18 = +1 saving throw bonus vs. *wands* and *spells*
3. WIS 11>12>13>14: if you want to use (Limited) Wish spells without relying on wisdom potions they are definitely no waste.
4. INT 19>20: +1% chance of learning spells and +3 lore (you may sacrifice this in Asylum dream).

I have never played BG2 so my question is now
what is Lum machine? and is there a limit on how many times you can use it (i.e. you have to choose whih stat to increase)?
Edit: I think I know the answer to that now.
So I will greedily use all the tomes for myself.
