One of the most infuriating aspects of fighting Banshees is their inconsistent adherence to the game's rules: turning invisible, firing invisible/hitscan Warps, becoming invulnerable to powers/melee, teleporting/sync-killing through walls, etc. We've all heard of or experienced these things, and I don't expect they will change anytime soon.
However, I've found a majority of my Banshee deaths occur when, while chasing me, a Banshee will cover an abnormally large distance in a single biotic teleport to end up behind me, then instantly initiate a sync-kill. This will happen even when I am constantly backpedaling or on a higher elevation. Is this the result of lag (I typically play off host to avoid a "Waiting for other players..." lockup at the end of every match)? Does this happen to anyone else?
