Bethany (and to a certain extend Carver). There are many instances in
which we need to look after them like when they get kidnapped or when
you need to save them from a certain death. I kinda like that we have a
sibling in DA2. I actually feel a bit more personally connect to the
sibling character than a lot of the other companions. The conversation
and relationship dynamic would change when you are related to the
companion. I actually find it amusing that Carver gets angry and jealous
at Hawke for receiving more attention from their parents. You wouldn't
have such dynamic with just random characters you meet on the road. I
wish we could have taken Carver/Bethany with us the whole game.

Just, don't make my brothers/cousin/nephew/etc., hot enough and force me want to romance him

I'd like it if the Inquisitor had a brother/sister (or both - or even several siblings!) but I feel it may be slightly too early for a sibling companion again. That doesn't mean they can't play an important part however. Just so long as Bioware doesn't pull another "human noble" and leave me hanging for the entire game not knowing what became of my brother!

NO!
Looking after companions is no fun job. I had to do this in swtor with 7 peops everyweekend. Tank in a guild is a hard job.

In DA2, I did have moments where I felt like I was babysitting a bunch of idiots. Don't get me wrong, I love the DA2 characters, but I wanted to put just about everyone who wasn't Aveline or Varric in time-out at some point or another. Just about every time he opened his damn mouth in Anders' case.

No reason? He deserved the way he got treated based on his own behavior and the way he treated his family. Granted I think he did get better after Lelandra died and did become a more sympathetic character in Act 3 when you learn more of his past. If anything the Hawke family was alot more normal than the Cousland family because they were fairly dysfunctional. The Cousland family, while amusing and interesting, seemed a bit too happy and a bit unrealistic in the beginning (then again, I play my human noble warden as a bit of a nut and think his family is such.).Vladiostroke wrote...
I did not like the siblings at all in DA2, hell the only one I even liked from the family was Gamlen and everyone was picking on him for no reason. The families you had in the several Origins in DA:O was much more interesting, like in the Human Noble and City Elf one.

And I don't want a companion whose role is basically "damsel in distress". Companions should be badasses in their own right.

But yeah, assuming they don't disappear after the first third, only to reappear for little cameos, the final battle and DLC, I'd like to give them another chance at giving us a brother/sister. Preferrably, a rogue if you are a warrior and a warrior if you are a rogue or mage. Then they don't have to change dialogue that drastically.

He was really a well written char, and I began to appreciate him in the deep roads where he kept saying "I did that, that was all me." when he killed some enemies. It sounded so realistic, like what an insecure young man might say.

PLEASE, no more dogs. Give us cat lovers a break and at least let us stab them in the faces and make a nice fur coat.

In all seriousness, having Bethany around was pretty awesome. Girl was witty and made you actually care for her. I was really angry with those misbehaving around her. Good thing I dont have an irl little sister, I'd have gone nuts.

Not really, if she nor Carver were there then I would have one less mouth to feed.
