I disagree with the why. I don't think it should be the whole Synthetics vs. Organics thing. It should be more along the lines of "What if the Protheans beat the Reapers and expanded beyond the galaxy?" kinda thing. It was said that they were a great empire the conquered everything. Maybe this is the same kind of thing.

Reason why? We need a different theme for a different trilogy.

I thought up a plot a while back I thought might work... but it was before the ending DLC, so I'm not sure if it would work anymore. I followed the destroy ending because it was the easiest to work with, but maybe the Shepard decisions could be somehow minimized to compensate (would cause alot of fan outrage though "decisions not mattering, etc.")

In my opinion, the next game should focus on different issues than the last, so I tried to come up with a way to minimize the whole racism aspect of the first trilogy. In order to do this, I thought up a scenario in which everyone was united by the Reaper war yet still have conflict.

In this scenario, you would be a mercenary or some other such combat profession tasked with defending against the Reapers in an outlying colony planet. The game would start with you emerging from a stasis pod like Javik because the governor or whatever official you work for would want to try to hide like the Protheans on Eden Prime. You would awaken to find a world around ~100 years in the future. Not all the relays would be built back at this time, so a unique culture would have built up for the colonists so it would be a unique experience for returning fans.

The colonists would be made up of Krogan/Quarian/Turian/Human etc. that fought in the war, but they wouldn't be focused on all of their differences as they were brothers in arms and formed a new sort of kinship. The Story would be about you trying to find out why you were kept in stasis for so long and it would be about the many warlords that have risen up while the galaxy was quarantined into sections by the loss of the relays. The governor/warlord of the planet found an alien technology that may help him unite the galaxy for better or worse under his rule and it would be up to you to either help him or stop him.

Anyways... Thats my take. Its probably too specific, but I would love it if the next game somehow tackled new issues to avoid being redundant to the Mass Effect trilogy
