I agree, IMO the insta kills are terrible game design in a game that has vanguards / melee oriented characters.


I disagree, it's a high risk high reward scenario, and skilled vanguards/melee kits do well enough without getting synch killed.

There are some things you should never charge/melee(praetorian) and it should stay that way.

Look at the Kroguard on geth, if synch kills were removed I don't think anyone would play ranged chars...

We have enough trouble with Phantoms, Atlases, Praetorians, Scions (tried that the other night - painful), Banshees, Brutes, not to mention all the other enemies who don't need insta-kills like Dragoons & Bombers. Most of us are getting hammered by the Geth anyway as they were always arguably the hardest faction till the collectors showed up.

I wouldn't mind the Geth have an instakill ability if meant making tweaks to the various Geth units. There are simply far too many stunlock attacks going on right now. With the drone now working and delivering a stun of his own, it would make sense to remove the stun ability from the Geth Primes shots and give the Prime a installkill instead.

By changing this and perhaps reducing taking away the stun ability from Hunters as well, it would greatly reduce the frustration of fighting the Geth and make more challenging in a fun way, rather than with the cheap artificial difficulty they now possess.

Ha ha, you're a comic genius. Always best to return sarcasm with sarcasm huh? I do think it would be better if Geth could instakill the whole team in one foul swoop though... then they really would be a popular enemy choice.

no. i think the reason there is no insta-kill on Geth is because BioWare wants to leave one faction without this...
i don't think Geth will ever get an insta-kill enemy and i'm glad.

Only if you make them fire indirect so its a top-attack cain that cannot be taken cover from. oh, and retaion the dualshot glitch, make sure not to fix it, instead make the shots go to 2 different players!

I'd give Primes, Hunters and Rocket Troopers ability to stomp grounded players as well.

I think that the best candidates for Geth sync kills are the Bombers. It would speed up, hit you with great force in the stomach and rip a hole in it, filling it immediately with a grenade. Your character gimps and you are out of the game for the rest of the match.

That's how I'd balance the Geth.

Also...two other reasons why the Geth don't need an insta kill (in addition to stunluck glory) are:

1. they don't f***ing panic...so fire effects just do damage but they can still fire at you

2. the pyros...oh the pyros...their flamethrowers have a range of 2 miles, have shields AND armor so alot of powers dont work and alot of attacks are weakened, they can stomp on you (and if u revive before they stomp...they stomp-cancel and do flamethrower instead)...and once you are in range of them, their attack is basically an insta-kill

Also...i kno this thread was sarcastic but i used it as an opportunity to vent about pyros
