I'm not too familiar with frostbite 2. How well does it handle facial animations? For a series that focuses a lot on conversations, I feel like the facial animations have been pretty lackluster.

it handles facial stuff very well and with the FIFA ant system, animations are second to none.  Just check out cut scenes from BF3 and to a lesser extent MoH and judge for yourself but some called BF3's cutscenes near CGI quality, in a good way.  Plus FB2 did surf like sweat and facial color changes when under stress or angry etc.  stuff ME3 unfortunately didn't have.

Not too surprising; isn't Dragon Age 3: Inquisition also being built on this engine? Would makes sense both teams would use the same engine.

Mass Effect Battlefield!

If they made a PvE Mass Effect game that was reminiscent of Battlefield (essentially the current multiplayer, but featuring vehicles, large maps, large teams, and objectives like Battlefield's Conquest and Rush), I'd love it. If they make a Mass Effect competitive multiplayer game, however, I'm out. Too tired of PvP games not being balanced.

Is that the MMO office?

That's BioWare Austin.

I think Montreal is the multiplayer team.

by MMO he means the SWTOR studios which he correctly stated as Bioware Austin.  If u meant something else, bioware Montreal is being enlarged to make the next ME game while Edmonton is doing something else.  Montreal is the multiplayer studio for ME3 and will be making ME4 instead of Edmonton.

I had hoped that ME3 wouldve been in development for another year, and IT would have been released using the frostbite 2 engine.. If your gonna have Giant Death Robots destroying cities, it would probably look better in Frost Bite 2.. But alas, hopefully they do better with the next game.

Edit: Scratch that, excited to see what the Montreal studio can do, cause i liked the ME3 Multiplayer.

That looks pretty damn good graphics wise.

I gotta be honest though if they do a BF/CoD style Mass Effect game i'll be disappointed.
Ideal scenario for me would be a sequel sp rpg (not sure if that's possible lore wise?), As far as MP goes i'd like to try a more tactical mp experience in ME once it stays PvE though. I have no interest whatsoever in a PvP Mass Effect.

Isn't Edmonton currently working on DA3?

I would assume that Bioware decided to give each studio its own franchise...Austin handles MMOs, Edmonton handles DA and Montreal takes ME.

re: Engine
Not really surpsied that ME4 is going with the relatively new frostbite 2 engine...people tend to forget that the original ME was on the relatively *new* Unreal 3 engine and if ME4 is a start of a new trilogy or at the least a game that you will want to import your character into following games, you want a relatively brand new engine...

Bioware probably hopes to get at LEAST 4 games out of this engine (DA3, ME4 and any other games after these two)

re: MP
I doubt ME4 would have PVP. You pretty much would have to strip out any of the now shooty powers like stasis, reave, cryo blast etc...Bioware has had success with the co-op MP and Borderlands shows another franchise having success with this so I doubt you would see a ME PvP

I will also not buy this game if it is PVP. If I want to play PVP I will play COD or Battlefield. I like how the multiplayer works in this game. And it should not be changed.

Hopefully ME4 is only made for the next gen consoles, it is such a shame that ME3 on PC looks like a 8 year old UT mod.

Its being made by the ME3 MP team, so no more DLCs?

Story is here http://ow.ly/fdGHW via twitter from Tulley Auckland a CM for bioware and other studios or just go to the bioware blog.

game seems to be headed by Montreal not Edmonton with Casey still being the lead.

So discuss,
what do u want?
possible class changes?
etc.

edit1. Plz stop freaking out about PvP.  Nothing is official yet.

That's hardly surprising and is entirely expected since Dragon Age 3 is running on Frostbite 2. The new C&C: Generals is also running on Frostbite 2, so I'd imagine the reasons for this are two-fold. 1.) It's cheaper to do thusly, and 2.) games will be DX11.

I know, I was expanding on your answer.

Probably should have specified that I meant the ME3 MP team.
