When I read 'P&P' in a post or a mod, I always take it to mean AD&D 2nd Edition pen & paper rules - although my personal experience is more w/the 1st Edition rules.

To me, that's the rules from the old Dungeon Masters Guide written/edited by Gary Gygax et al.

Am I all wet or is that about right?

Thanks, CKT

I don't think P&P refers specifically to 2nd Edition, it can refer to any system that is based on books/character sheets etc. So 1st Edition D&D is a P&P system, and so is 2nd Edition. I believe the BG games are based on a modified version of the 2nd Edition D&D rules.
