Phantoms, Banshees and Praetorians abuse their bubbles too much

Banshees and praetorians I don't mind because they're big enough to shoot and don't have stupid-high DR along with anti power bubble.
Phantoms on the other hand, need to have their DR removed.Air Quotes wrote...
The point is that the complete invulnerability from powers come with no drawback for Banshee/Praetorian.
When they use the power block they should either:
1. Take EXTRA weapon damage
I agrre with this very much.
They force power classes to take weapons that are good against armor and shoehorns them into specific choices. Those classes are already affected by weapon weight the most. And weapon classes already rule supreme. Now even more with easy fire, cryo explosions + techbursts.

I don't see why abilities like Cloak, ARush, Marksman etc are unaffected whilst powers that actually require aiming are.
Because those abilities directly affect the user, not the recipient...who is affected, yes, but not directly hit with any affects other than weapon damage.
Also Tactical cloak works on them still.
I know that, but that's not my point. I think it's stupid that enemies can use shields to protect them from some powers whilst others are unaffected. It should either be everyone and everything or nothing at all.
Maybe Bioware should make an exception for Tactical Cloak though. It's such a crappy power, it might need this small buff to make it worthwhile

+ Weapons deserve some love too.
It's kind of annoying that debuffing powers that improve weapon damage are useless though. I don't see why abilities like Cloak, ARush, Marksman etc are unaffected whilst powers that actually require aiming are. At least those sweet seeker swarms hurt all characters, bless em![]()
I believe the vulnerability perk of targetted powers like cryoblast, proximine, and Tac-Scan can be applied even when their bubbles are up. In the case of banshees', you just need to cast the power again. Details are probably in Peddroelmz numerical thread.

I wish that it would just offer a flat damage reduction (even if where ridiculously high, like 95% reduction), and not block effects

Phantoms can't block hitscan powers, but the Banshees and Praetorians can. Praetorians able to move at super speed while blocking is super cheap as well.
Toughter, faster Atlas with lazors that shoot trough walls, can become invulnerable from powers and even more durable when possesed and have missiles too. Perfect balance!

Half of TC doesn't work if you use it to strengthen your powers.
Also, I had tou laugh at TC being a crappy power. I hope that was sarcasm.

The Praetorian barrier is ridiculous though. Honestly, the easiest way to fix the Collectors and make them even with other classes would be to do something about the Praetorian barrier. Either nix it entirely or give them a bigger penalty for using it. They would be the hardest enemy in the game even without it.

Banshees and Phantoms are damn annoying sure, but at least a bit more manageable than "Atlas-on-crack" Praetorians.
Frequency, damage negation, and/or duration of "Barrier of Power Immunity" needs to be adjusted.

That bubble lasts too long, they move too fast, and their period to use it lasts too long since they spend 80% of the time flying. That's besides the fact that they're tougher to kill than Atlases, have freaking lasers that ignore shieldgate and can shoot through walls, their bodies, and even after they're dead, plus they can get possessed and take a lot more damage while gaining the ability to shoot rockets that are nigh impossible to dodge. Oh, and did I mention that their melee has an enormous range and is perfect to stun lock you so that they can sync kill you? I hate Praetorians...

The Praetorian's bubble annoys me the most. I know not to target them with powers while they're flying, but most of my teammates don't so we have halfway invulnerable Praetorians (or multiple ones) all the time and yet they still waste time spamming powers.

One time I took a Praetorian down to one bar of armour. Then it got possessed and gained 5 more bars.

You could fight waves upon waves of Banshees Praetorians and Phantoms without triggering their anti-power abilities once if you actually pay attention to what it is exactly that triggers them.

Why do you think i said 95%.....Try to kill a phantom with anything that isnt a single-shot sniper or a niche weapon like the acolyte/gps, its nothing but flips and 95% damage resistance.Archie-Scott wrote...

This, so much...i have no idea why they have to be so stacked in their abilities.....phantoms can become 100% immune to powers, and 95% immune to weapons...banshee's/praetorians just troll the power users.
They aren't 95% immune to weapons, I still one-shot them with a swift head-shot with a sniper-rifle. I agree with the Praetorians/Banshee bits though.

Praetorians will only activate their barrier while they're flying, Banshees will only use their power/DoT immunity against projectile powers in their second attack pattern, (the one where they are unable to melee/sync kill) and the Phantom's barrier can be exploited by any projectile power and a half decent weapon.
You could fight waves upon waves of Banshees Praetorians and Phantoms without triggering their anti-power abilities once if you actually pay attention to what it is exactly that triggers them.
Careful now Ashen... Air Quotes is an extremely good player, he obviously knows this.
But I would've thought someone who PUGs a lot would understand the frustration when someone throws a power at a Praetorian BEFORE knocking it out of the sky.

The handicap BW place on us is somewhat obnoxious. There aren't any tactical counter moves we can do to them either.
It's a brain-dead mechanic.
Phantoms are constantly flipping around and Pretorians will just have their barriar bubble up any day of the week.

What's also really irritating is stuff like Turrets/Drones/Hawk Missile launcher. I hate that so much I just refuse to play grenade/melee classes vs Cerberus when there's a geth engineer/destroyer. Really annoying.
