I love you Seival.

edit: I put 5 out of 10, first this was because I thought it was about the whole game in general. When I realised it wasn't and I couldn't change it. I thought of keeping it the same anyway. And this is why.

it's neutral because The "real" ending is yet to be determined. You can only judge Mass Effect 3 as a whole (ending inclusive) once the dlc schedule is finished.

Therefore, if nothing is done, it drops to 0 or 1 if I'm feeling generous (yes, I feel it's actually that bad, no hyperbole here). But if there is something "bigger" in the works. eg; IT, PT etc...

Then It would be bumped up to 9, or even 10.. Depending on how enraged it makes Synthesis supporters if it's Indoctrination.

So 5 it is.

I would personally rate it a 9.5/10.

Nono, this ending is perfect:Image IPB

I didn't know Shepard could magically teleport to the Normandy. Weren't people saying the same with the original ending that your squadmates magically teleported from Earth to the "mystery planet"? They were referring it as a plot hole of sorts.

Actually, in that mod EDI picks Shepard up in a shuttle...

And is perfect, because all is explained, the reapers are still a mistery, and reunion. I should check it with low ems when finished, but awesome.

@Seival:
Unsurprising that things come out that way for you. I can't say I totally disagree, but are you serious with 10/10? Or are you just trolling the anti-enders?

My rating would be: 7/10 for thematic appeal, 3/10 for narrative and logical consistency and lore-compliance, 9/10 for being open enough to be compatible with my vision of the future of galactic civilization. Makes a 6 overall. Translation:

I really like the EC outcomes. All of them. However, I do not like that I must force a global change to get the Synthesis future (-2 points), and I think Destroy should have destroyed the relays irrepairably, keeping closer to the theme "free the galaxy of everything of Reaper origin" (-1 point).

As for consistency, there are too many contradictions and narrative inconsistencies in the ending to give it any kind of positive rating. A good "twist" ending lets all the pieces fall into place, with previously mystified players saying "Ah...now it all makes sense". ME3's ending, whether it satisfies you in other ways or not,  manages to do the opposite as players ask "Wait....didn't the whole trilogy tell me something different?" It should never be so much work to make sense of things.

Most importantly, I like that the ending is open to interpretation. It may have become less so with the EC but as I see it, the EC restores the foundation on which our imagination works to envision the future.

Edit:
v Indeed, with the dark age my rating would've been 1/10.

In terms of presentation, the ending does feel rushed (...and a holographic-child is still just dumb). But I think the presented choices are ok, and I am relatively happy with my ending (high EMS destroy) because they retconned the dark age nonsense in the EC.

6/10

I voted 7/10 but on further thought its more like a 5/10. I was fairly satisfied if not thrilled with the endings after the EC. That does little to diminish the sloppy handling, inconsistencies, and thematic disconnects, however.

In summary, it could have been better, but I'd rather they let it be at this point and move on.

Who cares about your negative scores, you Philistines. The gaming press recognizes true ~*ART*~, and gave it 75 perfect ones!

Reminds me of the Hyperbolic metacritic ratings that show up whenever something new is released.

I think it was a 10 out of 10. A negative 10 that is. It was so bad, it was a perfect storm of awfulness.

3-4/10. I like that they tried something different but I feel it was executed poorly.

If I could suggest something for Refuse Shepards, it would be hopeful. Or rebellious.

It's the Shepard who does not let fear compromise who they are.

So, uncomprimising Shepard?

I suppose I should make some kind of comment on my decision on this poll...
I voted 6/10. If I could, I would rate it 5.1 out of 10. Just right above the line, but still kinda mediocre. Playing through the EC ending doesn't ****** me off or insult me, or completely crush me emotionally like the original endings did (which I would rate 0/10 btw). There's also some effort put into the EC endings, while the original endings felt like every single detail was rushed and not thought-out at all.
But the EC is still far from perfect.

Why? I have to admit: There is an ending.

A 10/10 if something like IT/Puzzle will come true and I'll blindly by the next Mass Effect game just for sucessfully trolling me for one year.
