What would you like to see in Dragon Age 3 Multiplayer?

Character/face editor.
Varying equipment sets for fashion points
Being as I'm not really sure what direction they'll take the MP considering DA's stop-and-think gameplay with the wheel menu, I'll just settle for little things. Being able to change the colour of your characters armour is fairly meh, being able to create my own character's appearance would be a nice touch.

But honestly, there's a good chance I buy this game secondhand and am unable to access the MP anyways, so I guess it can have whatever it wants to as long as it doesn't interfere with SP.

With the new Dragon Age slowly approaching completion, I thought I would post some ideas that I would love to see implemented into Inquisition's multiplayer mode. And, since no specifics have been announced, hopefully the Dragon Age team could incorporate some of my ideas.
But before I launch into my long list of ideas, I would first like to point out some things about myself and my opinion of Bioware's use of multiplayer in a formerly single player only game.
First of all I would like to state that I am for the idea of multiplayer (incase the thread title didn't get that across). I know some of the Dragon Age fans would argue that the inclusion of multiplayer cheapens/hinders the single player, but I disagree (and no I am not a twelve year old COD fanboy, as some of the more harsh comments around the web have painted us multiplayer fans).
I love a good story, I love interesting characters, and I love the universes that Bioware creates. I don't know why there is this assumption that multiplayer = terible single player. Sure in a fixed budget, more money towards one area is less towards another, but more money thrown at a project does not instantly make said project better, and in Bioware's case they are receiving funds specifically intended for multiplayer by EA, so single player wouldn't have been financially affected.
Obviously, people feel different about the inclusion of multiplayer, and I don't want to spend this entire topic debating that point. I just want people to know where I stand on the issue. I am not some multiplayer fan that has discovered Bioware, I am a Bioware fan that has enjoyed many of their games (Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Mass Effect 1, 2, and 3, Dragon Age: Origins, ect.) with the thought of "This is awesome, but it would be even cooler if I could play with my brothers." always in the back of my mind. Maybe it is because I grew up with two brothers as into games as much as me, but I always found myself imagining playing Dragon Age, and Mass Effect with my brothers as my squad mates.
Mass Effect 3 saw the addition of multiplayer, and while it is not the co-op campaign that I envisioned (yet), it still offers massive replay value, and has kept me interested in the game long after I beat the single player (My opinion of the Single Player ending would be the topic of another debate.)
TL;DR Version: I love Bioware's single player stories, but I also welcome the addition of multiplayer. Even if you don't typically like multiplayer at least wait and see what this mode will offer before you shoot it down.
Now that I have that wall-o-text out of the way I can get to the true purpose of this topic: My ideas/opinions of what I would like to see added to the Dragon Age: Inquisition multiplayer.
1. Customizable weapons and armor for our multiplayer avatar.
- This is pretty self explanatory, bring the customization from single player into multiplayer. Mass Effect 3 MP lets you swap weapons, and armor colors around but for Dragon Age I would like to see interchangeable armor pieces, complete with different stats for said armor, and the ability to color those armor pieces.
- I would love to see the ability to wear mismatched armor pieces not just full armor sets. That rouge, you just leveled up is finally able to wear that dragon scale breastplate, but you still don't have enough coin to get a full set so you make due with the banded leather leggings, and simple cloth gloves.
2. Give us an actual store in multiplayer.
- Mass Effect gave us an RNG option to unlock our characters and weapons. This store was, I imagine, envisioned as a means to give us players something to strive towards and increase replay ability. But more often then not, the RNG store would cause frustration as it would give you that fifth rank four ammo in a row.
- I prepose that we have a combination RNG and traditional store, were the specific goods a player is looking for can be bought, but at a higher rate then the random packs that the Mass Effect RNG uses now.
3. Let us play as specialized classes (Assassin/Rouge, Bard/Rouge, ect.)
- Again this one is pretty self explanatory, give players the ability to play as specialization classes instead of the generalized fighter, rouge, and Mage.
- I would prefer that we would be able to start out as a Mage (for example) and then be able to spec into Primal Mage, or Blood Mage when we reach a certain level, but having "character cards" would work too. These character cards would operate in the same manner as Mass Effect 3's do: You unlock a Primal Mage card, or a Blood Mage card, and receive a character that can use the abilities of only that particular specialization class.
4. Kind of a sub point to #3 but can stand some additional clarification: let our character be able to use more than three active powers.
- Whether this is accomplished through additional button combinations (unlikely) or by giving us a pool of active powers within our class to pick from before the battle (most like, if not Bioware please work this one in).
- Mass Effect 3's multiplayer tends to suffer from a lack of variety among the powers per character. Sure new powers are introduced through DLC but these are only one or two powers, and the overlap of existing powers is quite common.
- I would like to see the ability to customize what powers you bring into battle, let us the players decide how we want to spec our power sets. This way you can have greater potential variety of teams, even if every one is using the same class.
5. Let us combine powers (specifically magic powers) into the deadly "super powers" like we could in Dragon Age: Origins.
- Mass Effect lets you chain together tech bursts and biotic explosions, which while helpful in dealing a little extra damage lack the awe inspiring epic-ness of Storm of the Century for example.
- Allow players to chain these powers amongst themselves or with other players. Give the classes an incentive to work together, as well as a reward for using a diverse power selection.
6. Playable races (something other than humans).
- I understand that in the Single Player side of Dragon Age: Inquisition that players will be using only a human character, but the fantasy universe that Bioware has created is far to vast to only let humees have all the fun.
- Let us play as dwarves and elves again, each race having specific pros and cons associated with it (rather than just a reskin). Allow these differing stats to bleed over into the classes we play as: An Elf Mage would naturally have more spell power then a a Human Mage, but less health.
7. Bring in the "non-human" races as well.
- While this may seem like a repeat of item #6 allow me to explain. All of the previously playable races (human, dwarves, and elves) have all been human-like in appearance. Elves are humans with pointy ears, Dwarves are short bearded humans; each got different stats of course, but other than that the similarities were meager.
- I would like to see playable Golems, and Werewolves, ect. added to the MP roster. We already have a set pecident of both Golems and Werewolves working with the player in Dragon Age: Origins so having a playable Golem would not be lore breaking. I picture these non-human classes as being specifically effective in one area at the cost of less customization compared to the vanellia races.
- Werewolves could be extremely deadly at close range, but would suffer from missile attacks, and would not have the flexibility of a melee specced human rogue. Golems would be effective tanks/support units but would be slow and an easy target.
- With that being said, I would still like for the specialty races to be able to purchase and equip armor and weapons; nothing as varied as the original races but enough to let these classes survive on harder difficulties.
TL;DR version: The "non-human" races I would like to see as playable are:
Malibari Warhounds
Werewolves
Golems
Qunari
Sylvans (Tree Ents)
Well that is all I can think of at the moment, I will add more ideas as they come to me but, I will stop here for now. Please let me know what you think.

But if BW insists on a RNG based store, at least this idea would be considered.

As for what I want to see in multiplayer, I want (but probably won't get) a co-op mode made for a totally seperate campaign made by a totally seperate team made with no effect on singleplayer. Think Portal 2's multiplayer meets Neverwinter Nights'. That would be cool.

I would like to see a way that a friend could enter my single player game and play as one of my companions.
It would be my playtrough, my decisions, my pace, my conversations, 1 or 3 friends would simple come along, watch it and help in the fights.
Bu the ideal is, no multi or co-op.

Wow, you guys kinda really really suck at making suggestions.
I would like to see customization of my multiplayer character, picking what gender, race, abilites, and so on that they have. Outside of that, anything would probably be good.
You mean all the stuff they can`t "afford" to put in the singleplayer game?

No, I mean stuff like "There shouldn't be multiplayer" becasue that isn't a suggestion of anything, that's just denial.
They will have multiplayer, if you don't like it, make a thread about how DA3 Shouldn't have MP and go there to post about it.
And I'm sorry, but did you get to take a look at the game? Are you one of the devs and got a super early build that let you see how you can customize your character, companions, and equipment yet? I didn't know they let people play the game yet so they could make statements like that.

If they are going to do a true multiplayer game, I would want more then one action button, that has gotten me killed many times in Mass Effect 3 when I am trying to run away to recharge my shields and when I run beside cover it will stick me to it right in the line of fire.

For instance, the inclusion of co-op may do a lot to improve the camera interface during combat. An arena-type PvP MP may allow multiple races to be playable, which could do a lot to make multiple races playable in future SP games. A horde mode may increase enemy AI in the single player to be more than just button mashing and giant health bars. Special MP only level quests/maps/levels may allow for increased lore/story, etc. There could even be a MP mode that is more inventive than the standard MP faire (hint, hint) that could encourage non-combat skills in MP mode. I know, I'm probably being crazy with all of these suggestions, especially that last one.
Anyway, I don't like MP. I consider them a monumental waste of time. But I know that I don't have to play it. And, as I mentioned above, there could even be a silver lining.
If I had to have only one request in the above list included, it would be a use in MP of non-combat skills. Anything that gets this RPG series out of the builds that focus on DPS more than anything else would be a welcome change.

I think Sylvans are not that playable as a non-human race, but being able to use a Werewolf with deadly short-range melee powers or a Golem with customizable crystals sounds awesome!
I don't see why the Sylvans couldn't be playable. I mean from a lore perspective you have the Grand Oak proving that not all Sylvans are possessed by mindless rage demons and are actually willing to work with other races towards a common goal.
Gameplay-wise I pictured the tree Ents to act more as debuffers / crowd control vs. the golems' tanky nature. Their "entangling roots" power could help with locking down more powerful opponents and their broad sweeping attacks could keep multiple enemies off thier feet.
If that seems too OP then just have Sylvans move slower then Golems, deal slightly less damage, and be highly vulnerable to fire attacks.
And as far as equitable items go, you could have:
Ironbark Armor - More defense.
Grand Acorn - Faster power regeneration.
Thorns & Briars - Attacks have a chance to cause beleeding damage.
Ect.

The loss of pausing would be made up for by the fact that each character is controlled by a human rather than one human controlled 4 characters.

If it had to exist i'd like it like BG2 did it. So in essence if it's restricted to 2 players, one of the party slots is taken by the second player. Either that or they take control of whatever NPC and just enjoy the story
Yeah, have the players joining play as party members. The Inquisitor (host) gets to make the diolouge / story choices.

When I play dragon age its because I want a satisfying single player story based RPG, Its "me" time. And as much fun as ME3 multiplayer turned out to be, i'd rather have had a single player game that had replay value. I played Me1, 2, Da:O and even Da2 loads of times (and thats partly why i'm happy to shell out for a bioware game) sadly with Me3 i've never got beyond earth on a second play through.
I don't actually want multiplayer as such, but it looks like we'll be getting it regardless because it leads to online passes, microtransactions and so forth and that just seems to be something needed to get a AAA game out these days.
Since its going to happen, my attitude is to make the best of it, and see if it turns out fun. I'd really enjoy a seperate multiplayer game using the single player mechanics which was basically a gauntlet style dungeon crawler, have a seperate multiplayer character which we can use to team up with people kill some monsters, get some loot.
What I don't really want is coop in the main story, PVP or anything which influences the outcome of the single player game, a bit of loot and slash with friends could be fun.
