So anyone else actually feel that patenting a summary of what your going to say and making people have to pay to use that kind of thing is bull****?

Or does everyone else have their heads up their arses about ME3 to even notice that this patent is ****ing ridiculous.

Best writer for the series. Sad he left before ME3. With him, the fiasco (Plot Holes included) that was ME3 probably would of been reverted and the series may have gotten a solemn, well needed close.

Odd, since Drew himself said the ending was essentially what had been planned since the beginning.

And on the topic, meh. I don't care for the paraphrase system at all. Good for him, though.

And what do you expect him to say, "No Mac took over my work and wrote an abomination"? He does have a job I have to imagine he'd like keeping.

Actually he doesn't. But where does he say "the ending was essentially what had been planned all along" again?

He didn't say it.
It's turn they never had anything planned from the beginning, not even Cerberus.
I wonder why EntropicAngel is lying.

The patent itself: http://www.patentbud.../Patent/8082499

It's not that bad - some BW survivors are there too.

How can you even patent something as basic as this?

The patent system is really messed up.

He doesn't even work for BioWare anymore.

I'm pretty sure Drew intended for Dark energy to make a larger impact and or have larger implications in ME3 (Reaper Motivations). He will obviously side with the ME3 ending to not tarnish what the other Devs came up with. He'd probably receive back lash from the company.

No.

He did not.

Dark Energy was scrapped.

It was mentioned.

Three

Times

In 100 hours of gameplay.

Three.

Times.

Yes.

He really did.

It was scrapped during the development of ME3.

The original plan for the ending was that the Reapers purpose was to stop Dark Energy destroying the galaxy by eradicating the cause of the build-up - Every space faring/Mass Effect field using species.

Shepard would be faced with two choices instead of two - Sacrifice the human race to save the galaxy by becoming a Reaper (Because humans are special), or destroy the Reapers & hope that the various species would be able to find a way to deal with the Dark Energy themselves.

The "Dark Energy build-up" plot was mentioned three times in ME2, with an entire mission being built around it.

This is called foreshadowing.

Dark energy was never the original plan. But an idea put on the table. Ideas that provoke anger and frustration larger than RGB.This cult of Drew is only a form of haters justify a supposed quality difference between ME2 and ME3.

Apparently, the writer of that has never heard of paragraphs.

The thread title is misleading, because the Bioware crew from back in the day got it: patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser

Karpyshyn is one of ten people.

Actually I think you can patent Artistic Integrity. This would be the invention

"A method of riduculing your critics as illiterate neanderthals, while totally coming off as a pretentious douchebag."

Did I capture the essence of Bioware?

Taking patent of a dialogue system that constantly, to me anyway, forces the player to reload due to misinterpreting the paraphrase is not something to be proud of. Maybe it's only me.
