Right... and I would like to see your controller after a Plat solorun right after... Posted Image

That argument's been brought up time and time again. It isn't true.

10 Platinum games beating my controller to the max and my Red one I use for the Mattock is no worse off than the  Black one I use for the Harrier (Also considering I need more shots to kill with mattock because I tend to use it on non infiltrators.

The Mattock feels like a poor man's version of a Harrier with a mouse macro. Dps is good, trigger finger and mouse are both happier, but you spend so much time reloading and pressure on ammo is only slightly lower than with the Harrier.

Also, is that considered legit, since it requires third party software and everything? Does Bioware have a stance on the issue? I've used it a little and been wondering ever since.

its a gaming mouse the macro is created with part of the software that comes with it.. the things are designed to give you a competitive edge in things be it reassigning keys or creating macros. imo saying its not allowed is like banning people for using turbo controllers and the like.

The accuracy of the GPR is pretty nice too. That said, I don't really end up using it.

I wish people would stop with the "just use it on a Geth Engineer!" argument already. Numbers have been crunched. Even with maxed-out gear behind it, a Geth doesn't miraculously make the weapon good. It makes it less-bad, certainly, but those benefits apply just as much to just about every rifle a Geth can conceivably wield.

The reason why is simple: The myriad benefits of Hunter Mode and weapon damage bonuses apply to other weapons the Geth can use as well - the only thing they gain from the use of the GPR that other rifles can't get is the Geth weapon bonus, and that 10% is not enough to offset the damage bonus from other weapons. With no mods, the GPR does an impressive 150 or so a headshot.... Which is about 10 damage less what the Mattock does with a regular bodyshot. When the Mattock headshots, it does about 395 a shot. What this means is that 2 body shots from the Mattock does about 10% more damage than 2 headshots from the Geth Pulse Rifle. Don't act like the Mattock isn't accurate, either - it drifts a bit at long range, but it's easy to manage and is perfectly serviceable for headshots too except at extremely long ranges - which ME3 is not exactly loaded with. A lot of fighting happens indoors, where the Mattock has no actual accuracy disadvantage.

But let's factor in the fire-rate from the GPR. An 8-round headshot burst is over 1100 damage - that's quite impressive! But it's unfortunately still less than 3 headshots from the Mattock. Even if it wasn't, the Mattock does the same damage in 8 bodyshots. The GPR specifically requires head-hosing to be remotely viable, whereas the Mattock will do its damage no matter the time, place, and situation.

Whilst it's by no means a horrible weapon, the Geth Pulse Rifle is substandard, and the arguement that it's on-par with other rares ignores data. At best, it can be argued it's roughly on-par with the Mattock due to its ROF and Headshot Modifier, but even this is debatable. If you compare it to other rare weapons - Especially the likes of the Argus and Revenant - it lags behind badly.

The GPR is in no way on par with other rare weapons, hope I didn't actually imply that.

It used to be absolute unsalvageable garbage. Now it's at least kind of fun to use on Turian Soldier and GE. The fact that it benefits more from HS bonuses than most weapons is nice (unless peddroelmz's damage formula is wrong) , and it's faster-hitting and more forgiving than the Locust... but it is still a sub-par gun in a sub-par weapon class, with only niche uses.

Mattock, meanwhile, is awesome all around.

OP your stats on the GPR are prebuff
- Damage increased from [27.4-34.2] to [28.8-36.0]
- Magazine size increased from 80 to 100
- Head shot damage multiplier increased from 2.5 to 3

Has anyone mentioned modding the GPR with the heavy barrel mod? I use it on my GE and GS works really well against armor since each shot is only mitigated by the armor cap of 5 and it has no kick whereas the Mattock does have a slight kick if you can fire at 450 RPM.

Mattock vs GPR. Much different guns.
Weight guys, weight! GPR is a 200% cooldown weapon, for casters, engineers, specially the Geth one. GPR isn't have damage dealer, is a support gun.

I like.

On a GI it gets the geth weapon damage bonus, and is lighter than the mattock.
It's all about preference. Sure it kills slower, but it has more ammo capacity and it doesn't break your mouse when you use it.

Harrier. That is all.

Harrier is incredibly heavy.

The GPR isn't very good. But I can't take this thread seriously if you're going to ignore important variables like recoil.
