Mass Effect 4: Playing any species, Any gender. (Be Positive.)

This is Mass Effect andSciFi it not just about stupid humans. The only reason we play human is because we are human. They have the resources already from Myiplayer and they could just add from that into Singleplayer. They could just use few Voice Actors or computerize it. It's not that difficult. There many fans out there that want this feature as well not just me. I'm sure some BioWare creators would like it also and enjoy it.

There you go, that's what ME4 will be like if we can play any species.

To those that are positive thank you for being positive and supporting. The Negitive ones you should be more thoughtfull about the idea and positive. BioWare and E.A can do the feature. It not impossible. I hope we get too because always playing Human in games is boring.

Where there is potential is the MP. Don't repeat ME3's distribution of characters. Have unlockable "modules" like races, classes, etc... Some races might only have some classes and so on.

You should though, they have a big effect on what the final overall thing will be like. Games ain't made for free, and especially with a publisher like EA that only cares about maximizing profit, it's not a simple matter of "just give us another 50 million & 3 years for 10 different playable races".Zakuspec089 wrote...
I don't care about limited resources or whatever.
I absolutely get that, but you need to stay realistic. Why not just have 2-3 alien races to pick from? Or 1 alien race (for example Drell, male & female) to pick from?Zakuspec089 wrote...
I know either ways Mass Effect is a great game and series and will always be. If we can't play another species then what the point of removing Shepard? I feel that playing another Humsn would just be like playing withShepard. I want to bsable to play other species beside boring Human.
Combat powers and outfits is just the tip of an iceberg. It works for MP, but SP is an entirely different story. If they were going to have multiple races, such concept would require at least SOME significant story/dialogue changes for each race, to poperly represent the choice. If it's just about modifying the voices and 3 lines of dialogue, then there's no point to it. They may as well stick to 1 race. This is the same reason people complained about Ash & Kaidan being railroaded into the same role (esp in ME2). So what if they have different voice actors and clothes if they're the same character? This problem was half-fixed in ME3 as they had completly unique & different Normandy/friendship/romance scenes & dialogues, but in the main plot, they occupied the same spot with very similar dialogues. The choice was diminished, so would it be if we picked an Asari or Drell and they had exactly the same backstories & dialogue options, just with different coat of paint.Zakuspec089 wrote...

If they're gonna do it, it should be done properly. The choice of a race/culture should have proper amount of exclusive/different content. But it will NEVER happen with 10+ races, each having 2 genders.

I want to be a Krogan preferably the one on Illium trying to seduce Asari. Yeah that'd be me a bad ass on the battle field and a Asari lover at the end of the day

There you are, Bioware can't make another Sheppard so the only way they can make a better character is allowing the players to create their own. Selecting race and gender is a first step in that direction.

Every game have Human. It be nice if we could play any species. Also you can play Human it be one of the options also. I personally will love to play another species like Asari, Turian I think many others too.
The boring could just play Human, also it not all about you.
I know it's not, but I'm sure as hell not the only one. But what I'm saying is that they'd be sacrificing quality for quantity, why would any of you want that? To have an aesthetic difference while playing? It's not worth it in my opinion. <_<
I agree that adding race options would cause the overall product quality to go down because it would mean more work with tedious aspects of the game. Work that could go into the main story, characters, etc. There are a group of people who would love to have this option but there is another group of people who don't want to play anything other than a human.

Yeah because limiting Skyrim to us playing a ****ty Nord would have made the game much better right? Get real. Bethesda would lose sales up the whazoo.
And how did having all those racial options in Skyrim detract from the game quality? That makes no sense. Every Elderscrolls game aside from Redguard had just as many racial options.

I don't think Quarians or Geth would be an option since they both can have pretty bad fates at the end of ME3.
Especially the Geth.

Whatever they do I hope they do it well and make both fans happy. I know in the future they will be old species, new species and hybrids as well. I be happy with only Asari, Turians, Drell/Quarians andHumans.
Aren't most of the Drell killing each other on their home planet, and most of the others are busy working for Hanar?

So let's say 1 male and female voice actor for the PC as there has always been. Then just put some different filters on the voice over, and the sound editor could make it sound like a drell, krogan or turian even though it was just voiced to be a human. I don't think anything needs to be added to the female voice over for the Asari or Turian (Nyreen in Omega seems to have a very clean voice). Other races such as Quarian and Salarian might have too distinct accents to just fix with a computer so let's scrap those, so it won't become too costly a process.
Then the different race avatars need to fit in the cutscenes and be able to interact properly with the environment. That might take too much effort for the Krogan as it seems to be really chunky, and therefore will be giving some camera problems. Let's scrap the Krogan as well.
We would still want some different armor pieces for customization and all that. That needs to fit the race and gender. Perhaps going from just designing a male and female human armor, and multiplying that work 5 times for 3 new races might be a bit too costly. So perhaps scratch the drell, and settle for Turian and Asari. That is only 3 new armor designs.
So now we are down to just Human, Turian and Asari. All the female voice over don't really need any sound editing. There is only a need to put on a filter for the turian male. That shouldn't be too big of a deal. These races all have very similar body shapes, so it should be possible to switch them in and out cutscenes. Then there will be some work with designing the armors.
It should be possible to keep it within budget if Biowares desires to add Turian and Asari as playable races.

The Drell homeworld is already dead, all thats left of them are the ones living with the Hanar.

I understand that adding the Hannar, Volus, Geth, Battarian, Vorcha and Elcor to the mix could become much to complicated (although very fun...)

Well we will just see what happens. If every species is too much they should just add the main species and maybe couple new ones.
By adding the main ones I assume you mean the council races, so that's 3 (Humans go without saying) plus a couple of new ones!?! I'm sorry, how many did you expect to begin with? So far you want them to do 6 different species, meaning 12 different voice actors and that's your idea of taking it down a notch!?!
