I'm stoked! Also how is the roleplaying aspect?DominusVita wrote...
From what I recall, a Dark Souls fan built a graphical mod that brings it closer to the original console version.

How hard is the new content?
About Standard Dark Souls difficulty. The trash mobs are bit tougher than before though, with the introduction of Dark Sorcery.
And good on ya', OP. Dark Souls (imo) is the greatest game ever made.

If you plan on using a mouse and keyboard , be sure to get the Mouse Fix mod.Playing with mouse and keyboard still has a bit of a learning curve, but its far easier with that mod.
The High Res UI and Subtitle fonts mod is another really good mod.

This is the most important thing to know about Dark Souls. You will die. Often and infuriatingly so. To avoid wanting to throw your computer through the window, just go in accepting this.

This post sums up the best mods. You basically get high res textures and a mouse that works properly.Brockololly wrote...
Get Durante's DSfix- the most recent version is here. This thread on NeoGAF has more info on it and some other mods. Its pretty much required too for other mods to work and its really easy to go into the .ini and change settings around.

There is a mega-huge difference between the standard game and one with high-res textures.

Hmm ... Actually the orignal version on PC without the graphical mod is a copy/paste of the console version. The DS fix bring it closer to what a PC is capable of.
With the DS fix you can play dark soul with high resolution (The console version is sub 720 P) and enhance the frame rates to 60 FPS (The console version is capped under 30 FPS)

It's not that hard if you're a patient and persistent gamer. The thing with Dark Souls is, it's difficult but fair. You'll never blame the game for your character dying. You'll blame yourself instead. There are a few bosses that might be a brick wall to you, but the game gives you plenty of level-grinding and loot-hunting opportunities to prepare yourself. As for its difficulty compared to other games, I actually found ME2 on Insanity harder than Dark Souls.

Didn't the game's director announce that entire thing was just a joke?
I was heart-broken when I found out.

Anybody else remember the narrow ledge in Anor Londo? Anybody?
My Dark Souls nemesis was Bob T. LedgeArcher and his friend Gary. I think that was the only point in the game I got truly frustrated.
My second time through I pretty much just sauntered past them.
And by sauntered I mean fluked a roll between him and the wall.
Everytime I'd walk up to the little bridge, there was always a message saying "tears". It was rated pretty high.

"Painful Story of The Ledge of Pain and Two Mobile Balistae."
One of my latest playthroughs ( a magic orianted halberdier) i passed them on my first try. Ran like the wind and got quickly near one of them and he tried to dodge me before i attack with a back step. Which resulted in a loooong fall but the other one fired another "arrow" so i rolled again and again to get near him. He felt down like the previous one did
Such a moment of joy and glory...
ruined by my clumsiness, somehow i pressed R2 and my character made a jumping attack, into the void...well at least i got them in one go
