Nope not serious but on PC it's possible to play at 60fps and at higher resolutions plus we thanks to the modding community the PC version also has improved DoF, SSAO, MSAA and bloom amongst other graphical tweaks. So Dark Souls on PC is the best version imo.

Still it has it's problems. <--- Old btw the mod is improved now.

Here's a comparison between the 360 and PS3. In Dark Souls case I'd recommend whichever has the better framerate but well both have their problems.

Not to be the devil's advocate, but they make controllers for PC gaming ya know. Granted, PC gamers rarely use them and it's a huge pain in the ass, but still.

Facing Smough and Ornstein now. Two attempts so far and each have failed (although they haven't killed me yet as I teleport out of there often after Solaire is defeated during the "second round" of the fight). I'm simply learning how I could defeat them as this character and I think I'm going to take Ornstein down first next time as it seems as fighting Ornstein in his second form as this character (my dexterity based warrior who is now using a spear). Smough on the other hand is more easier to hit in second form and much more slow.

On another note, defeated Taurus demon in one go thanks to my pyromancy. The Lightning spear was also very effective against the Gaping Dragon. Indeed I cleared The Depths without dying and it's one of my favorite regions just due to the whole disgusting look to it all.

Oh and those Black Dark Knights with dragon slayer bows? Gave them a taste of their own medicine with the Black Bow of Pharis. It's longer range than other bows and thus could reach them from the ledge which I shot them from. Took about 5 minutes to kill both though because it only did 5 damage from where I was...

Still the best version. Besides I play with a gamepad I couldn't care less if you have problems with a M+K setup.

A lot of people give up because its too hard. Rage videos on YouTube are always hilarious. They just won't admit it. In combat, you need to be patient, precise, and manage stamina well...at times with intense precision as well. Lowering your shield to let quicker recharge happen before another block is critical. I loved the Spider Shield, but Dragon Shield, Eagle Shield and Crest Shield were also good. Eagle Shield is invaluable in Sen's Fortress....especially if you're crazy enough to take on the Titanite Demons in deep goo at the floor level.

How impossible is Dark Souls? I'm scared of not being able to finish due to the difficulty.

Can you create a character like gender, race age and face?

Not very. There are frustrating bits. As long as you're patient and not prone to instantly ragequitting, you'll be fine.

I'm scared of not being able to finish due to the difficulty.

Don't be. Don't be afraid of this game. Seriously.

Can you create a character like gender, race age and face?

Yes you can.

It's not so much that it's hard more that Dark Souls is unforgiving. If you're patient you should be just fine you can't expect to go anywhere and everywhere at once like in Skyrim. Sure Dark Souls is open world but you do need to time to level up your stats. Hell I was so scared to advanced from Undead Burg my first time I didn't fight the minotaur until level 32.

I've only played for an hour and died at least 30 something times.

twice trying to get past that asylum demon and then an extra deaths for even attempting to kill him with a dagger (thought I had to).

Killed by a cannonball, died multiple times from two skeleton things at the top of some stairs with a skeleton using a bow and then 5 times against the dude with the massive shield.

And now I got to kill the asylum demon, he/she has killed me twice now.

And why am I looking like a zombie? Is it because I am a pyromancer?

Dude with massive shield? Wait you're still in the asylum? You're a zombie because you've got no humanity yet. Once you get it you can use it in the inventory to give yourself some humanity, with humanity you'll be able to reverse the hollow state that you are in at a bonfire and then you'll look human, be able to conduct summons and have extra curse resistance. Once you die, you become hollow again so seeing as you're dying often, you might want to level up and get a bit of practice before restoring humanity.

Got past the asylum. (That leap does some heavy damage to him). Now I'm at the fire something camp, keep dyin on the undead barge. I hate that double attack with the pike and the constant slashing, destroys my stamina and then I'm open to a fire bomb which finishes me off.

Tried he depths and got smoked by ghosts, how can I kill them?

I had no idea that those points were for levelling, I just ignored my blood stain and pick it up if I can.

The voice acting is terrible in this game.

That's the New Londo Ruins, not The Depths. Don't bother with that place until later. Since it's so close to Firelink Shrine, you'd think it'd be wise to go there, but....really, there's not much to do there if you're just starting.

In case you're still curious, to damage the ghosts, you need to either be cursed (which is not advised, because being cursed halves your health, )or have a bunch of Transient Curses. There're also a few weapons that can damage ghosts without the need for the cursed status/transient curses, but you likely won't see one for a while.

It's partially to do with game lore etc, but basically your character is undead or 'hollow', branded with the 'darksign' (hence the unlimited respawns). By using 'humanity', you can regain your human form which grants you access to summons and invasions.

keep dyin on the undead berg. I hate that double attack with the pike and the constant slashing, destroys my stamina and then I'm open to a fire bomb which finishes me off.

Until you get a shield with high stability (and 100% damage reduction), it's probably advisable to avoid relying too much on blocking and use more side strafing. Try using the targeting lock and circling around enemies so you can get a free hit in after they've finished attacking and/or get a backstab. Backstabs are probably going to be the best damage source against several enemy types, so you might as well get good at them.

Kicking enemies with spears and shields (or metal shields in general) is also quite effective, since it throws them off balance and gives you a free shot at them.

The voice acting is terrible in this game.

The voice acting is amazing. I've never heard so many creepy laughs.

Fyi if you use humanity to become well human you open yourself up to invasions meaning other peopl can invade your game and kill you.

Even though I am right at the beginning?

Is there really anything to benefit killing me? I have little to no valuables.

I've never invaded anyone myself, but I'm quite sure a successful kill nets the invader a reward of souls and/or humanity. And if you kill them, you get a reward as well.

And the Asylum is one of the few places you can't be invaded.

If you hate the idea of PvP, either remain hollow until you need to summon a phantom for a boss battle, or join the Way of White covenant (the portly cleric guy in Firelink Shrine that sells miracles will ask you to join if you talk to him.) It greatly lessens the likelihood of invasions.
