The titanite catch pole is just simply amazing.

I'm killing everything so far with a single hit and for the stone giants in 3 hits. Just farming souls now.

I was wondering if you killed that Titanite Demon or not in that crossover hall from the blacksmith to Darkroot.

From the sounds of it, it looks like you're going to be successful in this game. Lots of challenge await...you are still VERY early. I cannot WAIT until you face Pikachu and Snorlax.

Great job! Keep it up and savor the challenge. You will die one heck of a lot more. And you will get frustrated. But savor the challenge and atmosphere!

I still don't understand where to go.

There is the Watchtower basement which I opened but the bastard inside K.O's me in one blow. The only way I can think of going is by buying the Artorias crest which I have done, and killed numerous men inside but never gotten any further.

That's Havel. He does that.

There's a door you should have a key for (Basement Key, forget where you pick it up, but I'm sure you have it by now) back near the red dragon's bridge in the undead parish, near where Solaire was standing. It leads down to lower Undead Burg and the Depths, eventually.

Also this. I also require updates when you hit Blighttown. Seriously, reading people's adventures in Dark Souls is a hoot. :D

Oh yeah, I remember  now, the stairs leading down to that underground city beneath Firelink shrine?

Also whats past the red dragon on the bridge that keeps fire breathing? Who is Pikachu & Snorlax (I know them from Pokemon obviously but not Dark souls).

Dark Souls General, a hilarious youtube video about how insanely easy it is to die. If you want to keep the bosses you'll be facing a surprise, avoid watching it for now, but Pikachu & Snorlax are a reference to two of the bosses you'll be fighting later on.

Edit: Also past the Red Wyvern is a bonfire where you'll be able to join the Sun Bros (Solaire's Covenant), as well as another shortcut between Undead Burg and Parish.

Nope, the door I mean is right before the red dragon bridge, it would have been locked when you first got there. Here it is, as sometimes my info isn't very clear. Hope that helps!

Yeah, sympathy4saren meant Ornstein and Smough. That feeling of accomplishment you got when you killed the Taurus Demon? multiply that by like a billion, that's how you'll feel when you beat Ornie and Fatty.

Hardest boss fight in the game, in my opinion. Nothing else I faced came even remotely close to the trouble they gave me.

Not sure if it'll help, but here's a schematic/map I made back in the day:
Posted Image

The typical progression would be undead asylum --> undead burg --> undead parish (first bell of awakening) --> lower undead burg --> depths --> blighttown (which is evil) --> quelaag's domain (second bell)

Somewhere along the way it's useful to go back to the undead asylum and pick up the rusted ring (allows you to trek through swamps better) and maybe go to darkroot garden/basin which is more optional at this point.

Ringing the two bells of awakening opens up the next bit of the story.

So basically, your next goal is get down to blighttown/quelaag's domain to ring the second bell of awakening - you can either get there via the depths or take a shortcut through new londo ruins if you have the skeleton key.

I think I got him to help me, Lautrec? Got him and Solaris to help kill the gargoyles.

Ok, those ghosts beneath firelink shrine? They are real bastards, gets real laggy down there as well.

Oh my gosh, I died 27 times. I kept tally. Funnest fight ever though...with the music and arena and circular flow of battle (I kept a circular motion going)...awesome. Even when I beat them I was flasked out and began popping Humanity. Took an entire night. Loved it though.

I don't know how many times I died, but 27 sounds about in the ballpark for me. After the first twenty or so I figured I'd leave and get better equipment. Returned with several more fire spells and a beefed up Quelaag's Furysword. My armor at the time (still is, I've never had the need to change it) was the gold hemmed set, featuring the delightfully quirky Catarina helm, which I will never remove, ever. Except possibly for the Xanthous Crown, because I'm more about looking ridiculous than absorbing damage.

Just wondering, does this game take place in the castle and the surrounding areas?

My first reaction when I saw how fast it moved.

Not anymore, Kalameet takes that role now. Artorias is at close second.

I almost didn't have time for any sort of reaction. My brother had told me beforehand I'd have to be quick and get to a more advantageous position... I just didn't realize how quick he meant.

I pretty much said, "oh, hey, there's dogs too!" and then got chopped to bits. Fun times.

I think I am stuck. I killed Pinwheel, and died as soon as I got the 'victory', came back and died again, then get back to Pinwheel's base and I lost all the loot I could possibly get from Pinwheel's death and I now can not leave his coffin like room.

Nevermind: Found ladders. Can't believe I lost his ****ing loot. I really wanted a mask.

@Naughty Bear - I went through the Tomb of the Giants quite late in the game. It's advised that you wait, as you could come across an item or a spell that could give off light, and that won't take the place of your shield.

EDIT: also, if you ever do become stuck, which I'm sure is possible in some areas, you can always use a homeward bone, which I think all bosses drop now?

You need to go to lower undead burg, Naughty. There is a door on the bridge where the big hellkite dragon is.

Time to meet Mr. Capra. Muahahahahahahahaha!!!! :P

Skull lantern? A skeleton dropped it and I took it. I tried exploring theTomb of the giants but could not see and fell of ledge.

I just wanted to kill the necromancers, so I could explore later. Easily killed the black knight and got his great axe and killed the titanite demon.

@ Sympathy4Saren. It shall be done! Going to make my way there now!

EDIT: Ok I am at the cloud door, saw nice message saying 'imminent tears'. Oh god help me.

EDIT: Ok I killed it, what is the depths key for? Is that down the stairs beneath the firelink shrine?

edit: wow, derp, I'm a little slow.

the depths key is for a door near where you are. I can't really remember the layout, it's been a while. I know it's near that big staircase that leads back to firelink
