a prequel would be nice. perhaps the previous cycle or two. Instead of being killed off, your species finds a loophole.
I would like it though if as an optional side mission, if you had to take control of a Citadel Keeper before they were indoctrinated and work against the clock while avoiding reapers by mimicing indoctrinated keepers.. Some hard puzzle, with a random event to try to ward off walkthroughs.

Sequel. I need to play as Shep and Liara's daughter, maybe as a Justicar in training. It might make love interest gameplay a bit hard.

With you on the sequel part, but not the rest. My Shepard didn't romance Liara, my Shepard didn't/won't have any (biological) children, so for me (and anyone else who didn't romance Liara, which would be a large number of people) that would be simply impossible.

Same time. I want to see the Reaper war happening from a different perspective. It's be cool if they did a DA:O type game where you can start as an Asari on Thessia or a Batarian on Kar'Shan or whathaveyou, then the planet gets blown up and you have to go beat face.
Would be fun and give some much-needed depth and context to the big final London battle if we saw the leadup from a new different directions.

Sequel. I'm fine with canonized choices(Destroy ending ftw).

Definitely a Sequel. I want the Mass Effect universe to keep moving forward, even if it means past choices need to be canonized.

Since Casey wants to know what we want more I thought I'd bump this thread!

Sequel. I'm not entirely sure what a prequel would even be about.

Some people want the first contact war. But to be honest I think that would be kind of boring.

Agreed. Seems like it'd be pretty limited in scope, too.

If they did make a First Contact War game. I can see it just being all Action, and no RPG.
After all. Whats the point in having a choice there? We already know how it ends.

I think a prequel will have the very difficult task to overcome foreknowledge (boring to the players of the past 3 games?).
The lore is known so it will be an already known story (from a different perspective perhaps). Example: I don't think I'd buy a game about the quarians, where they invent the geth and be driven from Rannoch. While playing a quarian protagonist sounds great, I already know the story.
A sequel has the equally difficult challenge to overcome that any new (and serieusly dangerous) threat after the reapers will not feel credible. So would that be a game of sunny beaches and galactic build up after?
A sequel that assumes anything but the green (synthesis) ending and assuming the reapers were right after all: (new) synthetics will turn on their creators... might have a chance at being a thrilling story.
But won't that grieve the players with a green ending ;-)?

Prequel set during the dawn of the protehan empire or right before the invasion of their empire.

I just want a continuation of Shepard's story...following the Destroy ending of course.

A Sequel with some one new in the lead. After 3 games with Shepard its time for some new blood. One thing i would like to see from multiplayer is a N7 shadow as a Squad mate.

Prequel. Using the ending you chose in Mass Effect 3 would be awesome.
